In June 2007 the non-surgically trained, non surgical podiatrist named Ben Weaver stated about Hyprocure sinus tarsi implant “there is minimal scaring with the Hyprocure implant,”
When talking about why this implant was superior “Other implants screw into bone and if the implant has to be removed, we cannot fix it as easily, the implant can be removed if the patient does not like it”
Obviously Dr Weaver gained some financial benefit from Hyprocure to lie in the article (since then there are lots of peer reviewed articles supporting Hyprocure’s success). I would bet that Dr Weaver not only conned Podiatry Today but also Hyprocure in order to get a financial reimbursement.
Here are sample of other products Dr Weaver is a paid spokesman for:
Neuremdy. He comments about his success on their website, and has filmed videos trumpeting Neuremdy success to other podiatrists. What has he done to be believed? He no peer reviewed journals; he has no residency that he works with. All he has done is ascend to a leadership position in the AAPPM.
He lectures other podiatrists about success, about office protocols to make your office a success. As has been documented on this site and is public information, Dr Weaver declared bankruptcy in 2010, because he owed a million dollars and only had 200k. So he lectures, other podiatrists on how to run their practice, when he does not have a successful practice his practice is a failure by any measuring stick. Additionally just two months ago, he had a 42,000 dollar lien placed on his practice. I actually believe the AAPPM was also conned by Dr Weaver who apparently enjoys wine and fine cigars. Dr Weaver at first glance and hearing him talk would come off as very successful, unfortunately the opposite is true. Dr Weaver deserves to practice podiatry, what Dr Weaver does not deserve is to lecture, be a paid spokesman or write articles for podiatry publications. Dr Weaver’s blatant dishonesty has caused him to have no credibility on any issue.
