The biggest issue with the Coronavirus right now for Podiatric residents is essentially the lack of work. In the next couple of days all Podiatric elective surgery is probably going to end for the period of two months or so, perhaps longer, perhaps shorter. As many people know Podiatry Residents need certain amount of surgeries in a certain amount of categories to graduate. Now the sanest thing to do would be to just put a waiver and say anyone say 10% shorter gets the number, however, Podiatry and sane do not always align.
One of the issues with this is after the residency crisis a lot of residencies were created that shall we say are not putting out big numbers, so now if you adjust those lower…..well you get the idea. This is a large issue that Podiatry residents and residencies will face with the Coronavirus. Ideally the ABFAS will say something in the coming days to allow these residents to relax.

Podiatry is never honest about anything about itself. What’s the difference if they make numbers up? Residents have been reporting that they’ve been doing that for years. You can see when things get tough PODIATRY HAS NO PLACE IN MEDICINE and the poor training they do get is even poorer in times of stress. Podiatry DOES NOT BELONG. Heck, even when the apprentice’s get the numbers (or claim they do) it doesn’t matter. HALF FLUNK ANYWAY! I cannot believe that money money money money money is more important to Alan Sherman, Michael Shore and Harold Shoenhaus, then making the RIGHT decision. Can you believe they are not cancelling the SuperBones/SuperWounds meeting, Dr. Block ? Is this stupidity, Dr. Block ?
