Wow, just wow. Over 10 minutes of digging. Lotsa blunt tissue trauma dissecting. We don’t need no steekin’ lateral plantar artery! Not in a WB area, but with all that digging… hope she’s got a good malpractice attorney.
Greg, I hope all is well. Please wear a mask and stay safe. By the way, If the lateral plantar artery was severed my guess is she would have seen a lot more bleeding and cauterized it. The whole problem is attempting to limit trauma, but most importantly to handle complications. This is a hypothetical made up case: For example, suppose you are doing a Keller. You are trying to do anatomic dissection with your hemostat. You mistakenly did not stay close to bone and cut a capsule vein. What do you do? Tie it, or ligat it. Then you… Read more »

“Sewing tendons”? “Poping stitches”……Are you on something or is this for a grade school level audience? Or maybe you think that podiatrypost is for those who use English as a second language? Or maybe intentional based on your intellectual “level.” The way that you write it’s as if you barely graduated HS. No disrespect; however, the writing is rather “babyish” or medical assistant/LPN level. And we don’t to be talked into happy talk. Most got fucked by podiatry. Financially, psychologically, emotionally, professionally, etc…we don’t need some father knows best imbecile telling us to see “good” in everyone, and ‘be positive’–most… Read more »

Mister Chaskin is trying to RE-INTERVIEW for the residency he didn’t get by parroting back some basic podiatry. OOOOH! He sounds like s surgeon. B.S.!! Treating OSTEOMYELITS BY A DERMATOLOGIST IS NOT OUT OF SCOPE YOU IDIOT! md’s HAVE UNLIMITED SCOPE. AN MD IS ONLY RESPONSIBLE IF HE DOES SOMETHING OUTSIDE THE STANDARD OF CARE. A DERMATOLOGIST CAN DO CATARACT SX. IF HE WANTS TOO. AS LONG AS HE DOES IT CORRECTLY HE’S LEGALLY OK. A FOOT TECHNICIAN CAN’T EVEN CUT A FINGERNAIL EVEN IF HE CAN DO A GREAT MANICURE! If you hang around podiatrists long enough some of the business rubs off. Apparently, an MD wrote a book on physical diagnosis. (something podiatrists are not recognized as competent in because they can’t FULLY AND INDEPENDENTLY ADMIT or even do a High School sports physical) I guess he saw the NON MD’S making out, so he’s also making a little on the side. Too bad the PA’s and Medical Students will actually get to use physical dx while podiatrist’s physicals are mainly dp,pt and, is the foot cool? Leonard Levy gives more USELESS INFORMATION. Ain’t gonna happen. Podiatry was to medicine as the WWF was to the NBA
Some MDS are limited in anatomic scope regarding the hospital privileges to give surgical treatment of certain structures such as bone. In NYS the admitting doctor podiatrist can hold a DPM degree for diagnosis such as cellulitis. As far as other problems that attending is not qualified to treat they consult other specialists. Suppose a dermatologist admits a diabetic patient who develops an osteomyelitis in a toe. Hospital privileges granted to them may exclude sugical treatment of osteomyelitis in a toe. A podiatry consultant can be called as well as an infectious disease consult, endocrinology consult etc.. A doctor podiatrist… Read more »

PM Propaganda: New York Podiatrist claims magic plastic arch supports are good for fascitis. So does the Good Feet Store and all Chiropractors. NY’s got noth’n and most still need to sell them because they can’t touch a wart on the ankle. Big article: Step wise decision in choosing Orthois: First step. Can you sell them and get money for them. I guess the # of arch support ads that Block gets money from determines the # of articles supporting the supporters. I am amazed how much you and I both were considering tetanus, mitral valve problems fluoroscopy etc… The one difference is I feel congrats are in order Because she provided a service the hospital did not. She removed the foreign body. Okay, so I would have offloaded the area with felt and a surgical shoe that is cut out beneath the wound. The last foreign body I removed, I used my dermatoscope. I gotta find those pictures and post them. The glass removed was so small, one could barely see it with the naked eye.

If you really THOUGHT about it, why didn’t you WRITE about it? All you did was to flatter the non MD Technician. Don’t ride my coat tails.
Most podiatrists think about tetanus, valvular problems, fluoroscopy etc. What is wrong with any podiatrist riding each others coattails? It is not important for one podiatrist to be better or know better than another podiatrist. The goal is to improve each others knowledge. There is so much textbook education not found online that is available. One can spend $100 a of dollars on books, read and learn so much of what was not taught in podiatry school or relearn what was taught. For example, if a hypothetical patient asks for the cause of toenail streaks, different dermatology texts give different… Read more »
