This was sent to ACFAS members:
| Dear ACFAS Members: The College was made aware of a video of a Washington state Orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon presenting false information on the education, training and certification of Podiatric physicians and foot and ankle surgeons. The ACFAS Board of Directors, in coordination with the American Podiatric Medical Association, American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and potentially other groups, is crafting a response to address the misinformed and misguided presentation. We remain steadfast in our advocacy for ACFAS members and the profession. Thank you for being a valued member of the College. – The ACFAS Team |

AH! TOCELYN. It’s a CONSTANT PROFIT prescribing it and giving it says podiatrist Spier. No conflict of interest there, right MISTER? TOPICALS, ORALS, TOPICALS AND ORALS, LASERS, UV LIGHTS-lots of effort and expense for a condition so benign and cosmetic. Yeah yeah a small % cause problems for a small % of your CUSTOMERS but without fungus toenails 40% of your business is gone and probably so are you. Along with the toenail scam is the MC QUACTIC SCAM of arch supports. Whoops! BENJAMIN PEARL interviewed BENNO NIGGS, PhD re: MC Quactics and he asked about the STJ. (pods love… Read more »
Some of the HIGH PRIESTS OF THE ORTHOTIC BIOMECHQUACTIC RELIGION are : Kirby, Richie, Root, Shavelson. All believe you can measure with your fingers, quacktographs, gentian violet, or your “Brownie” camera and make a magic insert that corrects your foot “just like contact lenses”. I think an agency from “MAD MEN” came up with that slogan. It’s all filler to get business because THERE’S JUST NOT THAT MUCH MEDICINE IN THE “BAG OF BONES” to support NOCTORS from the “mainstream”
Ironic. PM News prints two responses to a query from Dr. Eliott Udell. Both say topical therapies do not work. And what do you see next? An ad for a topical anti-fungal. With a free gift of a UV light to see the fungus. So here’s my suggestion, screw the topical, use the UV light to treat the patient. At least the patient would have a chance. And an ad for a laser. Another fungus toenail quackery machine. And an ad for a wart cure. Buy the laser. You can use it for fungus and warts. In fantasyland, you fools… Read more »
Continuing the folly, stupid Barry Block ACCIDENTLY exposes podiatric quackery when he PRINTS PROOF PODIATRISTS CAN’T TREAT HYPERURECEMIA. Poor podiatric education precludes pods from knowing of or having experience in SYSTEMIC diseases that can cause a Uric Acid to elevate. That’s why ALL 50 STATES FORBID, BY STATUTE, THAT FOOT TECHNICIANS ARE NOT DOCTORS CAPABLE OF TREATING ANY ( that’s 0) SYSTEMIC DISEASE. Podiatrists are told to read DAVID PEARLMUTTER’S (an actual M.D.) BOOK ON HYPERURECIMEA. Yeah, pods can learn from google too, like any other non doctors. Allen Jacobs agrees that pods are OUT OF THEIR SCOPE treating hyperuricemia.… Read more »
I do not understand and I am confused. You would think that after meeting Dr. Ira Krause and Dr. Jeff DeSantis the AAOS and the AOFAS would have been impressed by our training. To be honest, I thought they would defer all foot and ankle surgery to podiatrists. After all, consider the following about orthopedic surgeons : 1. They did not graduate podiatry school. So WTF do they know ? 2. They do not use a dermatoscope ! 3. They do not have a differential diagnosis for a discolored toenail. I’ll bet they don’t even know the correct spelling of… Read more »
Sitting at my desk laughing. Best post ever!
Technician Sussman says MD’S are unable to treat hyperuricemia. (Naw, they don’t no nothin about the foot) Technician Graziano says send the pt to an MD. Make up your minds! This dirty trade doesn’t know what the right thing to do is. BTW, hyperuricemia is SYSTEMIC. Podiatrist are forbidden by law to treat systemic diseases. At best they can treat the initial encounter than must refer to an actual DOCTOR. Didn’t they tell you that in quack college? How does anyone let UDELL lecture, or look at him as any kind of authority? This old quack asks questions about toenail… Read more »
Of course they remain “steadfast in our advocacy for ACFAS members”. They’re their BREAD AND BUTTER. The foot board business is a million dollar plus BUSINESS and they need to protect their turf. Don’t expect the MD to change his opinion nor will anything change to make podiatry look better. Podiatry has a BAD REPUTATION. TOO MANY NON QUALIFIED NON MOTIVATED customers were taken into the quack colleges and they were given poor training. That legacy lasts and all the advertisements copied by Barry Block TRYING to make podiatry more than it is won’t help. Orthopods are not impressed with… Read more »
Too bad Patrick DeHear and Jeffrey DumbSantis will not admit to themselves that they are turds next to orthopedic surgeons.
Is that the 20/20 tv show in 1995 regarding the trade of podiatry. A Question was asked: Are podiatrists physicians” The video cut to Gasstworthless, and he said one word: no. Then more techny type work compared wtih real doctors MD orthopods. Basically, in 1995 20/20 show, dp wtfery was Ding dong dead
The podiatry ASSociation “response” was to write a ‘strong’ letter to the 20/20 tv show…..what the bleep….those are your dues in ‘action’
