I believe that APMA is also a wonderful organization that has events where podiatrists can socialize with each other, have fun and in order to qualify for membership, please get money and pay dues to join. Think of the opportunities to meet classmates.
Disclaimer: at one meeting I remember there were not enough boxed lunches to go around. Perhaps an idea would be to bring your own lunch.

Also look at the methodology used to get money ( surgery).. your bunion will cause you to fall and break a hip, needs to be fixed, your ankle sprains need an ankle scope , the nail fungus can spread to your finger nails etc etc etc., you need orthotics or you will fall.. etc etc etc……
