Some clinicians and administration get salaries so long as the podiatric medical colleges are open. My opinion is that they might lack objectivity when speaking to students as to how great the podiatric profession may be in terms of being able to make a living.

Again my opinion is nursing is a much better profession in terms of being able to treat the ankle as well as not worrying about getting matched with a podiatric residency. Why spend 7 years for a limited license that in states such as NYS a podiatrist might not even be licensed to treat the ankle. Isn’t nursing a better choice?

My personal answer is if I were a graduate, I would stay away from podiatry and medical school and opt to get a NP degree.
