Tips for Increasing Office Income
1. Sell waiting room seats ! This is a great income producer. We have 6 cushioned first class seats, 6 business class seats, and 14 economy class seats. We take reservations at the time the patient makes their appointment. A helpful hint is to schedule all your patients at the same time, which will create a demand for seats. In our office first class seats come with a bottle of water and a foot shaped cookie.
2. Dispense holiday orthotics. Try red and green holiday orthotics, blue for your Jewish patients. Multi-color Kwansa orthotics are big sellers in my office. After all, people buy holiday ties and socks, why not holiday orthotics ? Consider July 4th orthotics, Valentines day orthotics also. As for St. Patrick day orthotics, I make the extrinsic posts rounded. Between the alcohol and unstable orthotics, ankle sprains and fractures increase, providing even more income.
3. Sell make-pretend bullshit children’s orthotics. Make up a series of “foot types” and…………what ? Somebody already did this. Oh well, never mind.
4. Charge a rental fee for protective eyewear during laser treatments. If the patient is dumb enough to pay you for laser therapy, scare them into eyewear protectors. Heck they do it at Tanning Spas don’t they ? It’ll help pay off that lease purchase you got suckered into.
5. Clean or used nail clippers? Charge them a buck or two for using clean nail clippers to avoid the risk of spreading a fungus. Or don’t and take your chances !
6. Charge $2.00 for optional alcohol wipe before an injection.
7. Brand name arch supports ! Look at all the designer eye glass frames. Why not let patient pay for designer prefabs? Gucci, Valentino, Chanel, why not.

Charge 10 dollars for each initial after the name……….DPM, ACFAS, ABPM, CES, SP, etc etc….get some financial value instead of self ego gratification. Podiatry has the most alphabet soup after the name then any other profession. OH,..extra 50 buck charge if they are royal surgeons of Glasgow.

Dirty podiatry was always meant to be a sales Business instead of a fundamental medical specialty, so why not market?
