I agree if a podiatrist already has a DPM degree starting out why not consider closing down your practice part time to pursue a NP degree so as to have a good chance of treating the ankle in states such a as NYS as well as eating a good living? There are graduates from foreign medical schools that do apply and when considering all the numbers there indeed is a shortage. Now some foreign graduates might not get matched and consider podiatry as a alternative.
