Increased Complication Rate Associated with Podiatric Surgery

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8792546/

An honest question for:  Barry Block, D.P.M., JD

If you had a severe compound fracture of the ankle would Hermine allow you to see

a podiatrist for surgical repair ?    Would you allow yourself to see a podiatrist ?

Remember your dear friend, Dr. Bret Ribotsky avoided seeing a podiatrist to care for his bi-lateral foot and ankle trauma.

He chose a foot and ankle orthopedist.

We at The Podiatry Post are wondering if you would do the same thing.

Its an interesting study I think part of the reason from reading through it as Podiatrists are taking on harder cases see they operate on PVD etc. I wonder if they can explain the elective issue as well. Is it training or poor patient selection?

increased complication rate by DPMs from a decreased IQ Pod graduate and from a disorganized non ACGME residency.
What was posted? A national application pool of 571 to the Pod Schools? That tells you how much Podiatry is needed or wanted.BUT wait !! the APMA has voted that the education and training of a DPM is the same as an MD/DO.

Some of the MOST RECENT BARRY BLOCK OMISSIONS: The story about the past NYSPMA president, ROY De Francis, who stole Covid vaccines. The AMA REFUSING TO ALLOW NON MD FOOT TECHNICIANS TO TAKE THEIR USMLE EXAM and, most recently, the HIGH COMPLICATION RATE OF NON PHYSICIAN PODIATRISTS vs REAL ACTUAL MD PHYSICIANS. That news is not good for the foot school business, the “board business”, the arch support sellers business, the APMA membership business, or Barry Block’s “I don’t touch feet anymore” blog business. It’s not good for the MENTAL HEALTH OF THE MARILYN FENTOON LIFER’S EITHER. Their heads must… Read more »

THIS TOPIC IS NOW CLOSED! SAYS THE SHRIMP-MEISTER. Kirby literally calling Shavelson an incompetent quack and that podiatrists don’t know HIGH SCHOOL PHYSICS. OOPS! Not a good look for those with the fake ‘DOCTORATE’. Better “close” this expose’ before more MD’S OR INSURANCE EXECUTIVES hear about it. It’s too close to his advertisers pocket book and HE NEEDS THEIR MONEY TO BE ABLE TO NOT PRACTICE LAW OR TOUCH FEET. Stupid BIOMECHQUACTICS has been the ACADEMIC FOLLY FOR PODIATRISTS as SUBLUXATION IS FOR CHIROPRACTORS. Only the TRUE LIFERS BELIVE IN IT and want to “close the topic” when the TRUTH… Read more »

All those soft ball “interviews” leader master bater promoting footology etc.etc.. (marketing)–all so that the MD orthopod does the foot surgeries….Oops. reality is a bitch. The pink shirt, soy boy cuck glasses and the big payoff. Florida rules bro!

MC Dreck,

I believe Bret lived off of his deceased wife or girlfriend, the dermatologist. Absolutely pathetic…………….
and has an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon operate on his fractured heels.
That is a disgrace to the profession he loved. At least I thought he loved his profession.

He loved podiatry for the same reason many lifers do. It gave them a sliver (not silver) of an excuse to “play dr” and look like they too were in the rare atmosphere of a physician. It helped the TRAUMA OF MEDICAL SCHOOL REJECTION AND THAT’S THE TRUTH.

Podiatrists are getting paid pennies by insurance companies for foot surgeries compared to physicians. Still podiatrists are doing surgeries. Now, in another attempt to send podiatry back to chiropody, a study is released that these non medical techs suck at doing surgery. Their failure rate will make the insurance companies sit up and take notice. It’s over. NYCPM will in the future revert back to its initial name FIRST INSTITUTE OF CHIROPODY. White lab coat day will be replaced by Dremel Drill Day. Students will be back down in the basement grinding carcinogenic rohadur plates. Post graduate training will consist… Read more »

“podiatrists are getting paid pennies by insurance companies for foot surgeries compared to PHYSICIANS”. Goes back to the old adage YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Recall the movie “MOONSTRUCK” where Sher’s father is a rich plumber and he scrapes a pipe then recommends COPPER! piping. You get what you pay for.

Whooo boy! I wonder if Barry Block will HIDE THESE TRUTHS FROM HIS ADVERTISERS AND THOSE WHOM HE USES THEIR E MAIL TO MAKE MONEY? And….what about all the “JUST LIKE” LIFERS when you read what MD’s think of Podiatrists? They say PODIATRISTS HAVE MORE COMPLICATIONS THAN THOSE DONE BY PHYSICIANS! Note the distinction between podiatrists and physicians. I told you you’re not Doctors! Clearly indicating MD’S DO NOT LOOK AT PODIATRISTS AS PHYSICIANS EVEN THOUGH PODS “CALL THEMSELVES” PHYSICIANS! Are you reading this students and apprentices? (you’re not real residents you know). Let’s look at it: Podiatrists have 4X… Read more »
