He tells us he “has discontinued taking trauma call and doing bone surgery.”
I think the trauma he gave up was toenail contusions and trauma induced ingrown toenails from people who cut their toenails, inappropriately. Maybe an occasional fifth toe fracture.
Can you imagine Paul Kesselman doing any type of major foot/ankle trauma ? HE NEVER DID.

Dr. Kesselman’s full time practice was a ZERO practice. I believe he had one employee, his wife. It was a small C & C practice including toenails and minor soft tissue procedures. THIS IS A FACT ! He always made more income from his consulting gigs. Another FACT !

Let me be the first to comment. MY brother is an orthopedic Surgeon, I am a DPM who did a 2 year residency. There is no way Podiatric education is even close to that of an MD. The GPAs of orthos undergrad is much much higher, the MCAT scores are much much higher and the residency training for orthos are at teaching hospitals recognized by ACGME. My residency in 2010-11 was ok, small community hospital, we had to hunt for foot surgical cases. I would like to add a correction to the comments by, Brother MD. The residency programs exist for the benefit of the residency directors who use the residents as cheap labor. They use the residents to scout up cases and referrals and act as though they are some type of intellect, not understanding that physicians at the hospital know that they are not real doctors. I was a student five years ago and rotated through a program in Missouri. Bingo! There is little academic knowledge in non standardized post podiatry school trainee programs. The real doctors do NOT want podupetry trainees there. They know they’re not real doctors. Their acumen is that of a glorified nursing student. The trainees as you excellently stated are “feeders”, scouts, cat fishing for selling procedures onto victims (“patients”). The trainee director is all too happy to eat crumbs and scraps. At a high powered fancy bean o town program, the real doctors knew that dpwtfs were not real doctors. Perhaps if a residency director sees an honest applicant who will not recommend procedures that are unnecessary, and who explains they care about their patients bingo they get denied a podiatric residency program. I refuse to ever be an indentured servant. In some ways I am grateful I never became an indentured servant.

It’s difficult to give up on that 200K per year per podo trainee thing (“residency”–LOL). That’s the ONLY reason why dp wtfs are walking the hospital halls in search of victims./sales techniques.
Plus, the p stools must keep accepting dimwits from no name undergrads in there (think verbulis the obese girl foot clown) to maintain and sustain the p stools.
