Should Podiatry Practices near Coronavirus outbreaks close?

Should Podiatry Practices near Coronavirus outbreaks close?

I get it. Podiatrists and their staff depend on their practice being functional and running to earn a living. And despite what you might have heard there are a decent amount of Podiatry practices that function week to week and missing a month or so could sink them. But it is becoming clear, even with the best decontamination efforts, the virus will spread. Would you as a clinician feel guilty if an asymptomatic patient came to your office and infected a staff member? Then that staff member and equipment in the room unwittingly infects twenty to thirty of your patients.

The fact is the elderly predominate Podiatry practices as do at risk patients with Diabetes. If there are cases in your area, it would seem the prudent and correct measure for a Podiatrist would be to close the office. Do I expect Podiatrists to perform this act? Probably not. But again, based on the data from this virus and the risk it creates for your patients the correct measure will be to close your office if there is an outbreak in your area.

A reminder: yes one week to one month of no income will suck and be painful. You know what else would be painful and have far greater repercussions? The heath department in your area tracing an outbreak of the Coronavirus to your Podiatry practice. That will provide grave struggles to you.

Whoa! Seth brings up a MORAL and a SECULAR POINT. What will Mister Podiatrist do? To my mind, it would take an armed National Guard to stop most podiatrists for CARRYING OUT BUSINESS. Even though foot techs take (mandated) INFECTION CONTROL courses those pesky science facts won’t matter. BUSINESS IS BUSINESS AND PODIATRY IS A BUSINESS. Seth also brings up a point that young podlings (eddie) should learn. You’ll be surviving month to month for a long time young Jedi. You know… before all the Charcot Reconstructions and limb length cases bring hundreds of thousands to your office. Right. One… Read more »

Dr Robert-that pic of core has been used for many years, remember seeing it all the time. Looks like a furniture salesman or vacuum store assistant manager. Funny bc a lot of podiatrists have a look to them. Sorry, it’s just off, off kilter, something odd about them. Also, do podiatrists ever retire? Seriously. A lot these guys and gals didn’t have much student loans etc…why the heck are they still working in there late 60s and 70s. I think there’s was a guy in his late 80s still working as a podiatrist? Was it bc he had to or… Read more »

BM news survey questions for the manufactured “crisis”:

How much toilet paper did you stock pile?
Do you use two ply or cheapy toilet paper?
How much alcohol wipes did you steal from the real doctor’s office?
Is this a grrrreat buying opportunity or what?
How many obese staff did you lay off due to the fake, mean, the….. recession?
How many adverts masked as “news” articles did you write into the Asstown tymes?
Is your headshot current or from 15 years ago?
