A FREE CME lecture from Presents. A free CME. Free ? This is another tribute to the ridiculous ineffectiveness of the CPME. Another VA podiatrist lecturing. Remember Robert Frykberg ? Why was he dismissed from the VA ? Same VA crap. The meeting features evaluation of diabetic ulcers with a modality. The program is generously sponsored (they gave money to Sherman and Shore) to promote the therapy the company profits from, who generously donated. Undoubtedly the VA podiatrist will derive some benefit from this beyond “educating us” on better care.
ASPS, Ann and Sarah, and so many others do the same thing. Free CME ? Free of restraints by CPME, free to award credits for an obvious commercial, free to give biased presentations and give CME credits.This is one more reason podiatry will NEVER EVER be anything more than a low level ancillary “profession”. Free means feel free to do whatever you want. Sure hope the speaker, another VA hack wasting your tax dollars, covers up better than Frykberg did. Not coincidentally, senior Frykberg is still running meeting for Presents diabetic programs. Sherman and Shore take in the bucks. The VA podiatrists do what they do and take all the risks. And CPME does nothing. Another reason not to support the APMA. Another reason not to go to a podiatry school.

My cousins daughter goes to Podiatry School ( not a medical School). She never visited my practice because she was told she could be a Pediatric Podiatrist ( LOL). yesterday was the BIG match day. She matched with a program in Tennessee. There were parties and hand shakes and jumping for joy all day. She will be gone for 3 years to do a surgical reconstruction of the foot and ankle , so I can’t wait to ask her where she will get her Pediatrics training (LOL). 16,500 DPMs mean NOTHING in the healthcare world as it is now or as it will be in the near future. No current z generation wants to spend 7 years after college pretending to be a doctor and better yet pretending they are relevant in the healthcare landscape. Wait a second. Lets forget about the CPME. What about spending your money to qualify for membership in the APMA to have fun meeting vendors and other podiatrists. There might not be enough bagged lunches for everyone, but again, there are teabags if one searches. Think of the possibility to sip or drink tea while socializing with vendors and other podiatrists. Learn what vendors are selling. Maybe it might possibly benefit a patient. One never knows unless they spend their money to qualify for membership or spend their money to attend as a non member.

The podimetrics “medical director” is giving a free seminar for ASPS geeks, another lecture sponsored by a company that makes the product that the lecture is covering. And by coincidence the “so-called medical Director” of the company is giving the lecture. And CPME will give credit for this. I am certain this will be an unbiased lecture. More podiatry bullshit.
