When people value Podiatry practices in yesteryear people used to come up with a value for practice goodwill. Typically this was based on charts and the phone number and a bunch of intangible items that could not be accurately calculated. Well, guess what, in 2020 Goodwill is dead. There is this thing called the internet. A patient can now how have 20-30 different options in the course of one second. They can even have ratings and valuations of those people. Phone numbers have no more value anymore. They are dead as well; bury them for good.
A Podiatry Practice is only worth the amount of the equipment. That is it. Nothing else matters. Podiatrists who want to retire and sell their practice for 300k… those days are dead. I hope you saved for retirement, cause the days of working then selling your practice and retiring are done. Deader than a door nail.

Some of these “foot and ankle” “surgeons” (PODIATRISTS) have bullshit statements like: “top-ranked, award-winning podiatrist”. The practices have no value, either does the profession. Unless you know how to still bill creatively while you can. HERE comes value based and bundled payments, HERE come the PAs and NPs. HERE come the reviews and approvals needed for foot surgery. Population health care needs FULL LICENSED providers. Numbers dont lie and if less than 800 students applied to the nine Podiatry schools then that says it all.
