I don’t thk most podiatrists even understand what was written in that article. Podiatry was a cult. It had at the very least, cult like characteristics. So any alternative viewpoint or evidence based factually -based argument was seen as an attack on themselves and the cult. They react ferociously because they’re being attacked.

When you’re not essential, you’re the first to go. Just as this pandemic has flushed out the real differences in class, race, wealth, and occupation so this too will effect the P. It’s as if the Titanic is sinking after kissing the iceberg, only to be finished off by a German U-boat. Yeah, I read “xrayvzn’s” lament as an MD radiologist. Come on now, really? His woe is like someone whining about the stock market which we know will rebound with exuberance as the economy reopens. (assuming Trump gets re-elected) The need for radiologists will not diminish and a “instant in time” (3-4 mo) over a life time of practice will be a “blip”. Even foot technicians will rebound, though more slowly and perhaps not as robustly.
