Yes you read that right future APMA president Patrick DeHeer is suing the American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management
I wonder how many other Podiatrists were swindled by this financial advisor promoted by the AAPPM. I wonder why Barry Block hasnt covered this would be significant news No? As many know we have written tirelessly on the shady companies and people associated with the AAPPM. The name of the financial advisor listed in the complaint was Patrick Lafferty. Lafferty spparently was a good friend of Hal Ornstein and this was the reason Hal no longer associated with the AAPPM. Apparently Lafferty spoke at eleven AAPPM conferences according to the complaint. Reading the complaint it looks like this guy lost greater than 100k from DeHeer.. Its fairly interesting article reading it you cannot help but question the overall intelligence of DeHeer for alling for this huckster. Anyways I cannot find what the result was this case was my guess is DeHeer lost but that is just a guess.
Ivar the fungal nail king Roth constantly tells us how successful he is with concierge podiatry. Why then does he have to resort to the behaviors alleged in the state board action against him ? I vent into podiatry because my grandfather had a sore toe and the MD (who didn’t know anything about the foot) couldn’t help him but the PODIATRIST had him dancing out the office PAIN FREE IN ONE VISIT. Blame Barry! (Block) for printing the nonsense that probably scares students from applying to what they see is a dirty profession. They see a guy who wears a pink tie and named Pinker. The pink tie is the hook in his advertisement. “I go to the pink tie guy.” Nice way to “steal” business. It’s interesting that podiatrists rip off insurance companies, residents and each other. So much for student recruitment!!
Scroll down to the end of the opinion. The Academy (Lafferty) was granted summary judgement on all counts. Essentially the case was thrown out. The judge makes it pretty apparent that Mr. DeHeer didn’t have much of a case. Hopefully he is a better podiatrist than plaintiff.

This was the exact time that I withdrew from membership in the AAPPM.
And Hal Ornstein endorsed his buddy Lafferty to all the members.
Hal was equally as guilty as Lafferty. Hal then started/founded IPED to compete with the AAPPM.
Didn’t his wife sue a trash collection corporation when her plastic rubbish fell over and allegedly caused ….major….injuries…..suing is the us national past time.
