Reality of Podiatry

epidemiologists are confused. They can not figure out what is going on. Why does indianapolis have more ankle scopes done then any other city in the USA? Why does Chicago have the most wound care products in use? Why does NY city have the most orthotics prescribed? Why does East coast florida have the most Incision and drainage performed? The list goes on and on..What the epidemiologists do not know is the worst pathology out there is…a patient suffering from “good Insurance”. But the insurance companies have a cure for it, called sky high deductibles and auditing DPM claims submitted… Read more »

Inciteful and accurate “Reality”. Because the lifers will never admit that creative billing fraud permeates podiatry in order to make it look successful and necessary, podiatry will remain in the shadows and out of the mainstream.

These “news” blasts are nothing more than press releases to scare the plebs into submission. Like the homeless, debtthere’s no real cure. There will never be, bc their presence is to scare the debtors into submission. “See, you better kiss ass at that shitty job Jane Blows, or you could be living under a bridge with Caddy Pod.” what this really shows is how desperate the many “news”papers and MSM has become, they have to stoop to bait and switch, click bait tactics in order to have anyone even look at the old grey whore (insert nancy “tiddies” joke here).… Read more »

When podiatrists find a good fraud they stick with it. One dismayed anonymous pod writes in that there is so much fraud in the Medicare Advantage Plans that about 65% of the charts show signs of FRAUD. So much he warns about being fitted for an ORANGE JUMP SUIT! I don’t think that will stop a %age of certain pods for favoring GREEN at the risk of ORANGE. Sticking to a good fraud is classically represented when using the term LIMB PRESERVATION. Pods jumped on that term like flies to feces and they won’t get off it. We know pods… Read more »

I wonder if YOU find this interesting? For those of you who watch FOX news you’ll know that Nicole Saphire, MD is a regular contributor. She did a 5 (five!) year RADIOLOGY RESIDENCY and is a board certified radiologist. She went to Medical School @ ROSS UNIVERSITY IN BARBADOS! One of those CARIBBEAN MEDICAL SCHOOLS THAT PODIATRY LEADERS TELL YOU NOT TO GO TO BECAUSE YOU MIGHT NOT GET A PROGRAM. Yeah, would you rather be boarded as an MD radiologist or by the board of podiatric “medicine” or the very limited, very variable foot carpentry board? Man, podiatry is… Read more »

PAY ATTENTION…that triad and three years is a poor excuse for a failed dream proven over and over year after year, decade after decade. What do you call a “happy podiatrist?” Stoned idiot. What do you call a DPM? You don’t they’ll be sending out coupons for some gimmick. Podiatry schools don’t even give you a chance to compete in a world where the odds are against the odd-man…uh, pod-man (or broad whatever politically correct button works). Thanks guys. Gotta say this site spells stuff out–and has for years–about the P that’s from the gut (most other P zones spew bile and hairballs), but here, with fellow inmates at the country’s finer pedal institutions a handful of irreverent altogether straight from the foot folks tell it like it is. Think of all the young lives this site has saved from taking the P path over the last twenty+ years. I don’t believe anyone posting here–except the occasional lifers–hasn’t done something decent by posting, saving a life, and that’s the thing that sets the standard. Consider DPM as… Read more »

No applicants because no one wants to be a Podiatrist and lose 7 years of their life for a trade 12 other health professionals can do with a full license and good income. PA is the way to go, 32 hour work week, 150 K and a full respectable license.

Why don’t the podiatry leaders at the APMA understand this ???????????? Do you mean to tell me every single board member is equally as naive as Patrick DeHeer and past President Jeffrey DumbSantis.

These personalities, DeHeer, De Santis, et.al., are STUNNED by their MEDICAL SCHOOL REJECTION to the pathological point that they JUST CAN’T ACCEPT THAT PODIATRY IS NOT MEDICINE OR MEDICAL SCHOOL, LET ALONE “JUST LIKE”. In order to keep a semblance of SANITY they MUST maintain the mentation that nothing needs to change. Their heads would explode if reality leaked in. Picture H2O mixing with Na. The “leadership” has NOT COME TO TERMS WITH THEIR OWN REJECTION SO THEY SEE NO NEED TO CHANGE. Podiatry has a MENTAL PROBLEM.

To all students thinking about podiatry: If you’re interested in medicine forget about it. If you’re looking for a BUSINESS TO GET INTO YOU’VE come to the right trade. Let me give you proof. (as if the last 40 years haven’t proven that already!) The “voice of podiatrists” (Barry Block’s personal business after dropping out of podiatry himself) is full of business. Patient with vascular disease? Forget it. Who cares? “PAD NET” as many as you can in a day because “PAD NET” says they’ll ‘INCREASE YOUR REIMBURSEMENT 33%! Now that’s money. What Podiatrist does EXACTLY and ONLY what a patient needs? If you said none, you are correct. Every patient encounter is a set up to sell, pitch, entice , convince, misconstrue, exaggerate, instill fear, self-promote, for a buck. CMS and insurers are now investigating wound care, DME, office meds, They are reviewing treatment plans, they are denying medical necessity, they have reduced surgical fees big time. All this because of what DPMs did in the 1980s 1990s 2000s. All has come back to haunt the profession and to slowly snuff it out. Can you believe a PA would just cut… Read more »

MERCHANDIZING: You have just summarized why GOOD students are STAYING AWAY FROM PODIATRY. Trepal can’t figure it out because New Yawk is all Merchandizing so they hire DAVID GREEN to sell a skewed view to high school students and undergrads. THEY JUST CAN’T SEE THAT THEIR PARADIGM IS WRONG. THEY JUST WON’T CHANGE. THEY WANT TO MINORITY TO BE THE MAJORITY VIEW. Perverted, narrow minded, and DEAD END thinking.

Hey, I know I’m monopolizing but I have the time and motivation to change podiatry by exposing it. I must comment on the SOS article about failing podiatry schools. It’s so telling, in that NO ONE ADDRESSES THE LIMITATIONS, DUPLICITY, AND QUACKERY IN PODIATRY. Instead, the DEAN (of the NY quack franchise), TREPAL, blames others instead of HIMSELF. He calls OUR commentaries SPURIOUS. WEBSTER’S defines “SPURIOUS as, FALSE, ILLEGITIMATE, COUNTERFEIT, NOT GENUINE. More proof podiatry is not a serious profession anymore. How about podiatrist RUMBERG along with Barry Block showing pictures of SHOES WITH TEETH! Not for any scientific reason but to CALCULATE THE PROBABILITY OF “GETTING CAUGHT” when trying to “pull a fast one” PODIATRIST TEICHMAN and ROCCHIO are “alleged” to have “misbilled” 7,000 times! Podiatrists are warned: Providers should not BLINDLY rely on marketers or medical billing services regarding getting legally paid for a “service”. The toes were osetomyelitic with MSRA and the vascular specialist and infectious disease specialist were recommending a transmetatarsal amputation. This likely would not heal since the patient had a coagulation necrosis would likely result in a below knee amputation. More than one of my patients were helped by this approach. Correct targeted antibiotic powder based on a lab report was useful to my patients. Other than Amniox used in the case of gangrenous toes, the economic drawback is that expensive DME reimbursed dressings are not being billed out. Then again, if patients are helped, this is most important.

I believe Florida accepts 10 years of experience in lieu of podiatry residency training. All that one generally needs to to pass board exams.

NYS however does not accept experience in practice and passing of board exams if one did not complete a certified residency program.

It is age discrimination for a state to require residency training for an older experience d podiatrist who because of his older age did not have access to such training. I got licensed in Florida. I intend to practice there.
