The incredible “podiatry is a mitzvah” story is fascinating.
Like the Blues brothers, “we are on a mission from god”. Wow ! Podiatry, a holy profession. God bless podiatry. If this is not testimony to the delusional thinking of podiatrists, perhaps the advertisement of the ABPM is. Read the ad and think. The ad states board certification is available for a fee. Board certification in the now Rodgers lead ABPM. The ad proclaims no case submission required. Certification available immediately after residency completion. WTF does this represent ? Nothing ! A money grab for a certificate that represents nothing. In a profession that increasing represents nothing. Look at PM News today. Look at the stories and ads. Johnathan Moore. Steven Barrett. Toenail polish. Presents “residency rumble”. At least it’s a day without a Lehrman or Armstrong or a King picture. What a sad excuse for a “mitzvah”. Scams and scam artists. Criminals cloaked as doctors. Board certification representing nothing. Toenails and shoes and skin. The real “mitzvah” is that podiatrists are limited in the damage they can inflict on the public. The declining applications to the colleges is a “mitzvah”. PM News is a “mitzvah”. It is a public display of the seedy underbelly of what podiatry should eliminate not celebrate. Accepted not condemned. Yes, there are talented and qualified and good podiatrists. However, so long as the PM News level podiatry is tolerated, Podiatry will never be viewed as an “equal” to real medicine. What the Barry Block podiatry audience represents is a class of white coat bearing one step above a pedicurist profession.

Ha Ha. I’m supposed to believe “podiatry in general” is an honorable medical profession? Let’s see. “KEEP THE PATIENT OUT OF THE DRUGSTORE AND IN YOUR PRACTICE”!: PRO LABS. MONEY SUPPORTER OF BARRY BLOCK WHO SUPPORTS BUSINESS. “DIVERSITY OF COMFORT”- Root arch support makers “REVOLUTIONARY”!- “ORTHOTICA” LAB. What has to hit you upside the head to see that the arch support game is a business with lots of biomechquactic lingo to sell the higher priced shoe insert? “Quick Tape” got the APMA ok. I wonder how much the BILLING CODE (29540) helped that endorsement? $$$$$ Look at the “medicine” a… Read more »
Regarding sneakers: “Those with average arches and high arches should avoid anti-pronator models and look for the neutral styles”. Wow, that’s some “doctoral” talent right there from the propaganda mismanagement rag or student delusional network.
Next in, neurosurgeons will discuss baseball caps, gasteroenterologists will chat abt what toilet paper is the most soft, hand surgeons show pics of silly mittens, and gyns will examine maxipads.
You are too funny, Stinker. But what you say is true.
The EVIDENCE for podiatry being a dirty lying profession keeps adding up. Have you seen the TV commercial for “Balance of Nature” supplements? There’s a fraud with a medical bag and a stethoscope saying he has a BUSY PODIATRIC MEDICAL PRACTICE” as he goes on a house call. They show the NON MD FOOT TECHNICIAN with a black medical bag and a stethoscope around his neck. Yeah, podiatrists use a steth so often they have to keep it readily available. A CPT CODE BOOK would more truthful. The NON MD says he counsels his “patients” on diet and supplements. As… Read more »
Brother Robert hope you are doing well. In my opinion, I think supplements can help patients as long as the podiatrist has read through the literature on them. Learning from others and getting information from other podiatrists and MDs can be helpful to help our patients live the best life possible and lift each other up. Life is short, and we are all in this together to help people avoid the enemy, disease. I do not think podiatry is dirty. The podiatry journals and the Journal of Dermoscopy https://dermoscopy.coffeecup.com/ can help us learn from each other, and share knowledge. We… Read more »
My personal opinion is that you are dumb and insecure and possibly dangerous to the public. I guess, “as long as the podiatrist has read the literature” is all one needs to practice medicine. If so, then “read the literature” on (fill in the disease) and TRY TO TREAT IT WITHOUT GOING TO JAIL FOR PRACTICING MEDICINE WITHOUT A LICENSE! Your thinking is flawed. Your failure to see your limitations is dangerous and your .Journal HAS NO ACADEMIC CREDIBILITY. TO ME YOU ARE AN INSECURE FRAUD DANIEL CHASKIN. You are a poster child for the Barry Block podiatrists that make… Read more »
Robert, hope all is well. A podiatrist is not licensed to treat any other part of the body other than the foot, ankle and lower part of the leg in states such as New Jersey. A podiatrist is not licensed to practice Medicine but they can be licensed to practice podiatric medicine.
“Podiatric”…..medicine is NOT MEDICINE, so practicing ‘PODIATRIC’ medicine precludes treating ANY SYSTEMIC DISEASE. And, if a systemic disease, did happen to manifest a symptom in the foot the podiatrist MUST send the patient to an ACTUAL DOCTOR to treat that disease. DIET, WEIGHT, ATHEROSCLEROSIS, DIABETES, even arthritis, et. al. (including pretending to hold yourself out as a Dermoscopist) IS FRAUD AND OUT OF SCOPE. You claim you NEVER RECIEVED any formal training beyond 4 general years at quack college so now how can you, as someone who claims to be “for the patient”, have a business in NJ touching the… Read more »
Regarding the comment “committing fraud practicing beyond the VERY RESTRICTIVE , LIMITED NY LICENSE THAT YOU WORKED UNDER FOR DECADES” Please review the definition of fraud. If a state Medical Board decides to license a podiatrist and call them a podiatric physician, it is not fraud to practice within the states scope of practice. My personal opinion is that it is not more difficult to treat certain ankle conditions compared to treating foot conditions.
Your opinion IS NOT THE STATE LAW! To hold yourself out in one State and be FORBIDDEN in another state is something the PUBLIC SHOULD KNOW. If I was a NJ patient, I would like to know that YOU are forbidden to treat my condition a few miles away and would want to question you about your training and experience. To me, not disclosing that to the public is FRAUD.
Stethoscopes might provide additional information related to foot health. For example,
an ultrasonic stethoscope might additional information about any decreased left ventricular ejection fraction that can be used as part of a physical exam in conjunction with podiatric care regarding another possible cause of pedal edema.
A podiatrist can request the patients MD listen to the patients heart for any abnormalities.
Disclaimer The above are my personal opinions.
A nurse of chiropractor can send a patient to a DOCTOR too. I know of no stethoscope that can determine EJECTION FRACTIONS! An MD CARDIOLOGIST may determine an ejection fraction from an ULTRA-SOUND (NOT STEHOSCOPE) STUDY OR FROM AN ANGIOGRAM. Either way, NO PODIATRIST can, or is licensed to, determine left ventricular ejection fractions. Also, if you need an ejection fraction to determine pedal edema, you’re an incompetent quack. An MD can determine that from a good history and physical and BY KNOWING HOW TO USE AND INTERPRET CARDIAC SOUNDS. QUACK foot doctors are NOT RECOGNIZED AS TRAINED TO DO… Read more »
Podiatrists have an opportunity to understand different causes for pedal edema and to rule them out. As far as the ultrasonic stethoscope to determine ejection fraction: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22335818/ A podiatrist can ask an MD to use such instrumentation to rule out cardiac disease that may be contributing to pedal edema. In NYS, the practice of the profession of podiatry is defined as diagnosing, treating, operating and prescribing for any disease, injury, deformity or other condition of the foot, and may include performing physical evaluations in conjunction with the provision of podiatric treatment. The above does not state a “physical evaluation” is… Read more »
Perhaps you DIDN’T GET A PROGRAM because you fail to see the NUANCES. The article you cite and MISLEAD with refers to a “portable” ULTRASONARGRAPHY machine that can be used on critically ill patients in the ICU, NOT IN A DOCTORS OFFICE. The study clearly indicates it was tested by “2 EXPERIENCED INTENSIVISTS” (ICU specialists) TRAINED IN CRITICAL CARE ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY.” This is not a simple stupid stethoscope a real doctor wears around his neck or would have in his office! As for YOUR interpretation of state law, may I suggest that the merely not listing ALL possibilities does NOT preclude… Read more »
Once upon a time, there was a high falutin 3 year podiatric “surgical” program that attracted “top” students. They had in house patients, medical appointments, and looked the part, sounded the part –good actors–like zelenskyy. The dp wtf attendings were all legends in their own minds, diabetic salvations, lectures, MDs tolerated them bc they referred patients/victims to them,–it was quid pro quo-back and forth to do the whittling here and there. Pinnochio “surgeries, revolving door “surgeries” to code, chart and bilk. It was a diabetic foot mafia, w/ luck o the irish, token oriental, and kojak yamulke. Simply clowns in… Read more »
Legit: When YOU pulled off the SCAB of the foot SCAM lifers SHUTTERED. For decades the con was kept quiet and the LIES Lured students. Finally, technology mixed with truth exposed the podiatric wound and it’s airing will either end in healing or amputation. I can’t say it enough times. Podiatry is controlled by dirty deluded men who because of greed and/or some mental pathology REFUSE TO SEE THAT THE CON IS CAUGHT and it’s time to CHANGE or GO AWAY. (can you say P.A.?!) The idea of building a new school is doubling down on delusion. Sane men would… Read more »
GLub, glub, is absolutely correct Robert. Ship of fools
Did you think Rosenblatt proved that the MD knows nothing about the foot? I’m not convinced. In a perfectly incompetent relation of the story Rosenblatt simply shows a part of a dusky foot and screams REFER IT OUT (to the ER) like the technician he is. Rosen blatt said the MD prescribed 2 antibiotics and the patient died. Uh, THERE’S AN F OF A LOT OF INFO MISSING HERE MR. ROSENBLATT. Maybe you hid it to make pod looked like he could have saved a life. You mean the MD never took temperatures, or ran a blood test, or a… Read more »

Hey Lifers. You THINK you’re big Doctors? Well, Med Page had an article IN JAMA by MD DERMATOLOGISTS about Bowen’s disease on the toe. Well, who’s better at dxing and txing? The MD’s did Moh’s surgery (pods can’t). The MD’s did skin grafts from the groin. (pods can’t) and the MD’s treated with systemic medications and X Ray therapy that (pods can’t)! The MD’s associated the condition with HPV and also suggested HPV vaccine (which podiatrist can’t do!) So, DAN Chaskin and company, WTF are you doing wasting the patients time and money when they could have gone directly to… Read more »
Thank you Brother Robert for your opinion, it is great that we can all have opinions in this short life. It does not matter what we call ourselves because we need to lift each other up. We need to help one another. The common enemy are diseases and we need to help people that is why we are podiatrists. Maybe as podiatrists we can help teach MDs about dermatology of the foot. And podiatrists can learn about Moh’s surgery from MDs. The Journal of Dermoscopy can be a start, also maybe Podiatry Management that has questions from other podiatrists. We… Read more »
I appreciate your post but have ever had peer review of your journal?
Sybly. Do you think MD dermatologists would bother to review a guy who couldn’t even qualify for a foot program?
The best thing you can do for patients is refer them to an ACTUAL DOCTOR. YOU HAVE PROVED YOU’RE A FRAUD AND YOUR PLATITUDES DO NOT NEGATE YOUR POOR TRAINING. Let me know when you’re going to teach MD’s about dermatology. Start by telling them where and how you became an authority. What a stupid man. Hey, shouldn’t you be retired at your age by now?
Q
The negative voters would rather have the PUBLI CONNED than do the right thing. You are seeing the “nut” of podiatry’s problem. Dirty selfish academically lazy lifers make up WAAAY TOO MUCH OF PODIATRY. THEY make it a DIRTY PROFESSION….AND I CAN, AND AM ANXIOUS TO, PROVE IT.
Brother Robert, hope you are well. We all can have opinions in this short life and it is great that we can have differences in viewpoints. Let us be respectful to each other and help each other through these stressful times. They are stressful for people having to work each day and do what is best for their patients during this terrible pandemic. I am proud to be a member of APMA and have learned so much from their leaders and speakers what to do during this very serious public health crisis. We need to work together and lift each… Read more »
You have a lot of nerve advertising your FRAUDULENT JOURNAL. You seem to have a need for approval, so you steal MD information and present it as if you discovered it and are an authority on it. YOU are not trained or licensed as a dermatologist, dermopathologist, or dermoscopist. YOU ARE A FRAUD. SEE AN MD PSYCHIATRIST TO FIND OUT WHY YOU ARE SO INSECURE YOU NEED TO COMMIT FRAUD TO GET ATTENTION. YOU ARE A BAD REPRESENTATIVE OF THE GOOD, HONEST PODIATRISTS THAT WANT PODIATRY TO BECOME AN HONEST PROFESSION. Seeing Seth is generously allowing you freedom I feel… Read more »
Robert, hope all is well with you today. You are entitled to your opinions and I am entitled to mine.
Those cases published were from my own patients who consented to have photos published. I am licensed as a podiatrist.
The readers of this post can go to http://www.journalofdermoscopy.com
And decide for themselves about those cases that were published.
Oh? I thought you were a licensed dermoscopist. I too am a licensed podiatrist and I can attest that dermoscopy is not the standard of care in podiatry.
Regarding:
“you steal MD information and present it as if you discovered it and are an authority on it.”
The photos on the cases discussed at the Journalofdermoscopy.com were taken by me and not stolen. This includes all the photos regarding using a dermatoscope and targeted antibiotic powder with offloading in treating gangrenous osteomyelitic toes in a diabetic foot at http://www.journalofdermoscopy.com
I gave full disclosure of my DPM degree.
The readers of this journal can go there and decide for themselves.
By the way, Seth has been very kind allowing me to post a link to this journal.

From WHOM have you learned your “information” Mister Chaskin ? Certainly, Dermoscopy was NOT taught to you in foot school and you were Never ACCEPTED to a post quack college apprenticeship, so, whatever you present in your “so called” Journal came from MD’s not dpwtf’s. BTW: whenever I use the term MD I also mean D.O. ,and furthermore, I never said you “stole photos”. Stick to the facts, and yes I agree that you are lucky Seth allows you to ADVERTISE FOR FREE. Barry Block would ban you if you weren’t HIS “FRIEND”.
Robert, hope all is well with you and that you are having a wonderful day. Some of what was published were ideas I thought of combining biomechanical exams such as the plantar aspect of the first metatarsal head with the analysis of dermatoscopic patterns of diagonal migration of melanocytes from the basil layer to the stratum corneum resulting in a fibrillar pattern with a higher probability of melanoma compared to the exact same pattern on a rigid first metatarsal phalangeal joint causing shearing forces explaining the cause of the diagonal migration of melanocytes. So important to consider biomechanical exams and… Read more »
Yeah, Chaskin, tell the jury you read a book and came up with you own ideas. Did you INFORM THE PATIENT OF THAT? You are walking on thin ice. Attention attorneys I will testify for free against Mr. Chaskin. I think he is not using standard of care and his license should be examined. Chaskin, are you aware of the volumes of nonsense you’ve placed ON THE RECORD? Your e mails here are FOREVER ON RECORD AND WILL BE BROUGHT UP IN A TRIAL IF YOU’RE SUED. How old are you Chaskin?
A study on brachmetatarsia. Why did these patients need surgery ? A non painful cosmetic condition. It is elective plastic surgery. Should be paid for by the patient, not insurance. Maybe they can lengthen my penis the way they do a metatarsal ? Open shoe, open zipper. Just a temporary inconvenience. Another excuse for unneeded surgery foisted on patients. Cosmetic surgery ? Psychologically traumatized by a short toe ? Wait until they see the scar the minimally invasive fixator leaves.
Achy brachy brachmetatarsia. Someone call a doctor!
Clever, ‘house’.
How many does average podiatrist do … da
Excellent point Sybly. 0-1 in a life time.
Is the article in PM News by Mr. Horr or Mr. Whore ? You have to wonder who in their right mind would pay this guy as a consultant. He makes Geoffrey Lehrman look good. This guy is right out of the AAPPM guide to illegitimate practice. Ornsteinesque in substance.

I offer, as FURTHER EVIDENCE, that podiatry is a minimally medical field as it is today, the ADVERTISEMENT IN BARRY BLOCK’S PENYSAVER that says, “WHY CERAMIC BURRS”? Well, the answer is that they last longer under the heavy daily use of CHIROPODY which makes up THE MAJORITY OF A FOOT NOCTORS BUSINESS. Podiatry IS STILL MOSTLY CHIROPODY. NAW! NO NEED TO CHANGE. Not as long as there are suckers to pay the APMA to LIE TO THEM. “AS PHYSICIANS”! AS SURGEONS! AS LIMB SALVATIONISTS! AS “THE” SPECIALISTS” OF THE FOOT! AS “THE ONLY ONES THAT KNOW BIOMECHQUACTICS”! Ceramic burrs last much longer and are needed for Dp wtf’s heavy use of them for nail clippery/chiropody services. Who needs those sanding disks, that’s for amateurs. Dp wtfs need serious equipment for their serious work. It’s time to set up another booth and sell these burrs to the village idiots

A foot tech got a piece of paper saying she completed a “fellowship” in biomechquactics and gait analysis. You all know that means lots of arch supports shoes and braces. What a waste of time and what a cheap piece of paper. Speaking of CHEAP Western U gave “SCHOLARSHIPS” TO 5 STUDENTS adding up to a whopping $5,000. A thousand apiece. They know pods are too dense to get the basic arithmetic so they know they can get away with another financial con. Never let an opportunity to con go to waste. That’s the poddy way.
Many dp wtfs appear to “dick ride” the podiatry establishment (praising, adopting, or imitating the views, style, behavior, etc., of another person or group; typically to an overzealous or sycophantic way). They justify, or at the least talk about podiatry as if it were a religious calling: a temple (church, mosque), that one must avow blind obedience, deep oath, faiths, allegiances, vows while adhering to certain rituals and tasks that appear to make sense to the niche congregation. Perhaps, that is why, any critical examination of podiatry is seen as an attack. Any evidence-based (NOT opinion) analysis/argument counter to the… Read more »
100% right Traum but, regretfully, way over the head of the average pods ability to understand you.

Will some MD or PhD psychological specialist make a professional examination of this trade? Podiatry appears to have an inordinate percentage of sick delusional members that find lying the proper way to gain acceptance. They quote each other. They call for God to affirm podiatry. They follow men who have a SHOE FETISH and pay for the privilege to have someone affirm the lie (APMA). Really, there is something seriously wrong with the podiatry trade and I have to wonder if these “lifer” mentalities should be allowed to deal with the public. Hey, I’m not kidding. Dr. Steinhorower ………………………… I am with you all the way. PM’s daily news gets more and more foolish every day. I don’t understand how Dr. Block does not see this. Does he wear blinders ? There is no pillow so soft as a clear conscious, Robert.
The man in the glass. The poem encapsulates living an authentic and real life.
I actually use “MY” pillow. Aside from normal NOCTURIA @ my age, I sleep well.
It was and IS certainly an “act”
Oh vey. A life in podiatry is like fetching water in a bamboo basket. Bloch needs to speak to his Rabbi stat, maybe that mitzvah will happen! Irreparably brainwashed, the amount of cognitive dissonance and mental masturbation /gymnastics to justify a lame excuse for a failed dream (Caddy Pod) is utterly eye watering. Maybe we all need to watch Podiatrist on the Roof. “If i were a rich pod, yiddle, diddle, deedle, clippery…..

Thanks for the PROOF! I predicted it, but it was easy.
Pod post has become CONTAMINATED with Barry Block podiatry LIFERS who can’t abide the truth chipping at their fantasy of being “just like”. Like Rush Limbaugh used to call them: “Drive byes cowards”.
