Well it’s over. The annual sales meeting and farmers market known as the annual APMA fake scientific meeting. Less than 400 suckers actually paid to attend this joke. Hopefully, those that actually paid did so as an excuse to write off a trip to Orlando. Actually, there’s more reality at Disney or Sea World or Universal than the APMA collection of paid for infomercials. All the usual APMA insiders cashed in with a free trip and honoraria. Joseph, Armstrong, Lehrman, King, Krause, etc. Of course the APMA aficionados and staff also took a free trip with your dues money. The poor attendance ( once again ) is a tribute to the useless APMA executive director, who looks away at the continued corporate infiltration and insider corruption called the APMA. Predictably, the APMA will either confabulate numbers attending ( likely ) or include speakers, exhibitors, free-loaders, etc. in their announced attendance. Or they will blame monkey pox or Covid or malaria or yellow fever.
What will it take for podiatry to wake up and confront the reality of the APMA ineffectiveness and corruption ? No students applying to the schools. A President actually claiming parity, while the M.D.’s say not only can you not sit for the USMLE but we would like the word resident restricted only to an M.D. or D.O. Continued unequal pay for services. Continued unequal status in almost all federal programs. Abuse of power by the TALAR Medical and Upperline Health APMA insiders. A CPME that has approved not ONE, but TWO new schools when low existing matriculation rates threaten the continued existence of the current schools. And continue to allow CME credits for obvious advertisements. Multiple phony board certifications. PHONY !! You know it. They know it. Literal quackery displayed in PM News daily ads. Phony fall prevention braces. Neuropathy cures. Laser cures. Fungus cures. Anything for a buck.
What will it take and when before you say enough ? This is a corrupt organization that cannot even put aside its self serving functions to provide you with a legitimate educational program. Or attempt to secure podiatry.

I was there because I live close by and let me tell you not more than 600 attended. Podiatry cant even get 5 % turnout of the profession. Why? Because every DPM has a CME event to make money. Every DPM starts a board certification or foot organization to make money.
