After reading the most recent comments in PM news penned by Dr’s Chaskin and Udell, I would offer the formation of a new board certification. The American Board of Podiatric Simpletons. The initial BOD would include Dr’s Chaskin and Udell as President and VP. If you look up the definition of simpleton, it is a old term which clearly and without question defines these two PM contributors. Because they are both older, it would seem appropriate to apply an older term. Judging from the PM comments, there should be no shortage of unqualified applicants and future members.

They can refer ankle sprains to a nurse practitioner or MD or DO who can advertise they treat the ankle. So long as podiatrists know they can get licensed in Jersey and refer the patient with an ankle sprain to a New Jersey office. Most NYS podiatrists are only licensed to treat foot sprains.
