There has been a lot of talk around the subject of our people experiencing foot problems and issues as a result of the Pandemic. However, no hard proof has been presented to actually prove that this is occurring. We have seen articles about Lockdown foot and people suffering from Plantar Fasciitis due to inactivity. There has also been ancillary reports about Podiatrists being busier and flooded with patients, but we have no hard data to support this contention. However, after some basic research there may be something to people having more foot problems.
Well I have bad news for you. According to Google search, there has been no increase in people Googling terms such as Plantar Fasciitis. Take the graph on people googling Plantar Fasciitis. It is essentially unchanged from five years ago.

So this Google data certainly indicates that “Lockdown Foot” is more myth than reality. It also indicates that Podiatrists seeing increased demand after the COVID 19 are either lying (probably) or having something going on locally. But the data indicates that COVID 19 caused no increase in people having foot problems or issues.
Any DP WTF stating they’re a Mohs surgeon, trained as one, etc.. needs a full mental illness assessment or be reported to the real medical board because podiatrists are NOT qualified to do Mohs surgery nor are physicians. They were foot dentists with 26cm of minor ailments to play with/bilk with

I heard that Amerigel has a Mohs foot post op kit. Does anyone know if that’s true ? Is Jonathan Moore (aka Mooreon) doing a free seminar I can listen to ? And I thought that I heard that Jeff Ross and David Armstrong did a study that showed after Mohs surgery healing is faster with a chorioamniotic graft. Is this true ? I’d like to know. Especially if a DPM-MD says so.

Why not apply the principles of Mohs surgery to daily podiatry. Shave down the callus. Check for parakeratosis. Shave more callus. Check again for parakeratosis. Check for acanthosis and hypergranulosis. Shave again until the margins are free of callus. Why not. Ditto plantar warts. Shave. Check. Shave then check. Remember, if the code fits use it. There has been no increase in the need for podiatric services. The very same services that originated at the MJ Lewi College of Podiatry were Debridement of nails,corns and calluses. Back then you got the degree of Doctor of surgical Chiropody. Which required graduating with no residency necessary. Probably a couple of bucks paid for your entire training.
