So some Podiatrists probably think that after the quarantines are over that Podiatrists will go back to business as usual. Here is the problem with this thought process. Treating the Coronavirus is going to leave Insurance Companies, Medicare and Medicaid in an ungodly amount of debt. How are they going to pay it off by cutting payments to the heroes that treated the Coronavirus and the hospitals? Or are they going to cut funding to trimming toenails…..I can give you a good guess how that decision might be made.
Podiatrists need to be ready. This is going to take a long time. Patient visits are going to decrease, reimbursement will decrease. Podiatrists are in trouble. No SBA loan from the government or the APMA telling you how to bill telemedicine is going to solve that problem.

It took a PANDEMIC to wake some LIFERS up. Suddenly we’re seeing the APMA “asking” ( on bended knee) state legislators to “increase the scope of a wtf”! Now they ask when the trade is falling apart. As if a legislative pen can miraculously imbue a MEDICAL SCHOOL EDUCATION AND DEGREE ON A PODIATRIST any more than they can to a DENTIST OR CHIROPRACTOR. Podiatrist still don’t get it. Guys like Tilden Sokoloff, Woodcox, and podiatrist Chisholm are suddenly singing scope. Where have you been? A little late to the party, nicht whar? Sokoloff says its been 40 years urging… Read more »
They will go back to sleep once the Hanks Disease flu goes away magically.
Uh, they’ll go to sleep alright. The kind of sleep where they don’t wake up.
Thanks Robert in my state call for nurses , P A and others to be on front lines! Sorry apma no allowing podiatrists to upgrade their license!
The foot clubs will lose money when folks don’t sign up or quite to be replaced by a whole new generation who’ll probably just do the same old same old. This really could mean CURTAINS for podiatry unless they dream up something THAT INVOLVES working with State Medical Boards—NOT the pod boards. Pods have to surrender to the prevailing providers NOT ON THEMSELVES-
And what kind of exam would that be? We’ve seen that shitshow out in CA before. Podiatry is dead. Kaput. Good riddance. Long live podiatry. Instead of slow death from strangulation by the insurance companies, it will be quick and merciful.
And looking at the bright side, maybe this will result in some relief/forgiveness for those stupdent loans associated with this wacky porfession. Sorry kids, you shoulda taken all that money to the casino and put it on black.
Take that loan money @ $300,000+++ and go to Vegas much better odds than podlietry. What are my chances? Not so Proud Dp wtf.
Thanks eddy! I felt for years let real doctors take over Podiatry schools and training ! And throw apma bums out!
Why would real docs want to even touch podiatry schooling / training? It s like touching Covid.
