4/4/3 equals zero in Podiatry. You can not use time ( years) that MD schools have and equate them to Podiatry school. MD schools have real rotations 3rd and 4th years. Podiatry schools, the 11 of them, do not have the same core rotations as MD schools and most Podiatry schools do not have basic 3rd and 4th year rotation in teaching hospitals. Much of what is accomplished by podiatrists can also be performed by mainstream providers: MD/DO, PA, NP. Nail salon technicians can perform nail care and orthotists can provide foot orthotics.
