This dirty secret that most Podiatrists are well aware of is that Forensic Podiatry is a scam founded by a couple of guys who have successfully bled the field to make a buck. Now be aware they do not care where the money is coming from: Podiatrists, lawyers, randoms looking to beat a DUI. They will take your money and sell you some snake oil. The problem with this fake science is that it comes with real world outcomes. People go to jail for murder based on this pseudo science.

Now do not get me wrong. There probably is a way for Forensic Podiatry to be a legit science, but not the way it is done now. To wrangle a quick book or help someone beat a DUI. You are being too rough on it, you think? There must be tons of info. Why yes there are two books written by the same article (he runs the hustle). So most of all Forensic Podiatry comes from a textbook written by John DiMaggio and Dennis Vernon. The original was published in 2011 and an updated version was recently published (its only available in kindle). They wanted to go over all the latest research (there has been none). If you are bored both books are for sale on Amazon.

But that is not the end of the hustle. See, you can be member of their wonderful organization and be certified. What do you need? Well the requirements are very stringent: 3 letters or recommendation AND 5 years in practice. But here is the kicker: one of the requirements is that you attend 2 conferences of their’s that they put on in a 5 year span. See just pay for our conferences and we allow you to join. What other relevant certification organization would require you only attend their conferences??????? But they also require you to do some research, which is amazing because this organizations and the authors have never done any research that has even left a minimal mark in Forensics or Podiatry.

But here is the kicker. Well ,there is a test….but get this, the restoration fee is $750, unreal. Literally ACFAS and APMA are probably looking at them and thinking, guys don’t you think that is a little extreme? Do not worry you can only take the test at their conference because you know computers do not exist in their world, apparently.

So I know and you know this is all a scam and I bet 75% of Podiatrists who look at this organization can see right through the scam. But the problem is the defense lawyers, prosecutors and innocent people that might not. They will hear the name, “Oh you are a Forensic Podiatrist” and not realize that Podiatrists wrote a couple checks to get some initials. Now you are probably asking why are you writing this. I did not write this for Podiatrists because as I said most Podiatrists are wise to his game. I hope that attorneys read this when one of these jokers gets ready to testify and rips him to shreds.
