Family Practice is tedious, boring, and poorly reimbursed – Maybe that’s why a lot FM folks get on an HMO panel (xyz USD/mo) to clean earwax, look at sore throats, and treat and street. AT LEAST podiatry has some action—FM/FP guys(gals) are bored, frustrated, and avoid Zebras…Surgery still has its thrills, but it’s a perishable skill set—PLUS FP folks are held to higher standards and get popped often for missed Dx.
