Here is the problem. Nobody considers Dr. Paul Kesselman or Dr. Jeffrey Ross or Dr. Karen Langone as having any expertise in biomechanics.

There are legitimate science-based principles of kinesiology and lower extremity biomechanics.
You can find them with physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, orthotists & prosthetists and certified athletic trainers.
The APMA continues to allow whack jobs with unproven biomechanics / theories to lecture and sell their wares at their meetings.
There is no accepted uniformity or protocols for orthotics use at APMA meetings.
What we do see is Puncha Puncha Patrick DeHeer selling his equinus brace.
Or the sale of pediatric orthotic theories so absurd to qualify as child abuse. It goes on and on.

True biomechanics you measure from C1 down and do muscle mass analysis etc etc. Biomechanics is so important in Podiatry that when my office staff ( non doctors) use biofoam to ,make an impression, we send to lab and the lab makes what they think will work.
