Are there going to be jobs for Podiatry Residency grads after the Coronavirus?

The fact is the economic impact of the coronavirus is going to be massive on Podiatry Practices. This economic impact will also fall on orthopedic practices as well. We are looking at possible drops in revenue of 25-50% over the course of one year. The fact is there is a class of Residents that are about to graduate and they may not have jobs that were once there. It would not shock me that there are residents that have signed contracts that will now find those contracts either reduced or cancelled.

This is going to be a very serious issue for some grads and something the APMA must now start to consider. Additionally, some of these grads may not get their case load necessary to sit for boards due to Corona (Yes I know they will just lie in their logs…but still). This is something the APMA and APMSA need to address, though I am not sure they can do anything.

Good luck Iil podlings. You’re basically fucked. Those 6 fig loans have a whopping 60d reprieve then us reality rears its shit head. Unless your rich parents paid them? Otherwise, You’re owed—how’s that “freedom” nonsense? Enjoy the debt slavery and don’t forget to fill out all those us forms or else….Don’t listen though. We are basic dwellers, losers, disgruntled, etc….

With mortgages in forbearance in New York for 90 days, and most certainly other states following suit, I would think the same thing would apply to the stupdent loans. Of course that doesn’t mean they’ll be discharged. I’m hearing a sucking sound in the background, one who’s volume will be turning up over the next 6-9 months.

What the heck is 1200 bucks pre tax gonna really do? Or billions to companies that will squander it of course. Come on. The worst will be coming. Better get some more toilet paper because most heads were in their asses

Podiatry STIMULUS checks are on the way…Checks to stay home—or homeless—First the elimination or elective surgery; which is confusing: Isn’t limb salvation ESSENTIAL? Then again some states have deemed pods expanded scope for 30 days—NO KIDDING…identify, educate, and be a part in CORONA care! Got an email yesterday: “Eddy, I don’t know shit about this, but I got a promotion to be ‘essential’ but no essential money.”

JOBS? JOBS? DOCTORS need JOBS? No, podiatrists need JOBS. DOCTORS ARE WANTED, NEEDED, AND RECRUITED. THEY HAVE CAREERS. They may be TECHNICIALLY under some employment agreement out of expediency but real DOCTORS (m.d.s) are NEVER WITHOUT NEED AND INCOME. Even something as simple as a sore throat is more disabling than a stupid bunion or hammer toe to say nothing about heart complications etc.. No, DOCTORS DON’T HAVE JOBS, PER SE. Just make believe, elective, foot only technicians need to work for someone these days. Who do you think will do better on his own a podiatrist or a DOCTOR?… Read more »
