The fact is the economic impact of the coronavirus is going to be massive on Podiatry Practices. This economic impact will also fall on orthopedic practices as well. We are looking at possible drops in revenue of 25-50% over the course of one year. The fact is there is a class of Residents that are about to graduate and they may not have jobs that were once there. It would not shock me that there are residents that have signed contracts that will now find those contracts either reduced or cancelled.
This is going to be a very serious issue for some grads and something the APMA must now start to consider. Additionally, some of these grads may not get their case load necessary to sit for boards due to Corona (Yes I know they will just lie in their logs…but still). This is something the APMA and APMSA need to address, though I am not sure they can do anything.

With mortgages in forbearance in New York for 90 days, and most certainly other states following suit, I would think the same thing would apply to the stupdent loans. Of course that doesn’t mean they’ll be discharged. I’m hearing a sucking sound in the background, one who’s volume will be turning up over the next 6-9 months.

They may be TECHNICIALLY under some employment agreement out of expediency but real DOCTORS (m.d.s) are NEVER WITHOUT NEED AND INCOME.
