While Podiatry practices have recovered from COVID, Podiatry conferences have yet to. COVID may have been the final nail in the coffin of the large mega conferences. The APMA, ACFAS, all of them and their national meetings will never be what they were. States have changed rules on CMEs and may not change them back. Don’t worry, the lecturers will still make their money on Zoom and other talks. They will be safe but the Podiatry Mega conference is most likely forever dead.

A limit license presents you with limited topics. Most DPMs come to a seminar is to get the latest and best billing cpt code. What will Podiatry do when CPTs are gone and a DPM has to do cost effective care????? WHat Will DPMs do when PAs and NPs take over foot care? I guess they will be studying for the USMLE >>>>LOL.

Podiatry conferences used to be informative and fun. Now they are so uptight (remember hospitality suite parties?) and serve as infomercials. Ancient pods still arguing about how to bill Medicare for cutting toenails while new residents dream of doing complex surgeries that they will be paid peanuts. CCP virus pandemic has shown how the conferences are a waste of time and money (travel/lodging expenses, time out of the office). Sit at home with a drink and watch the slides on Zoom.

Pods teaching pods to get pod credits for dollars that go to pods ripping pods – Put on your leisure suit, knockoff watch, combover (turban renewal), nab the pastry and sugar substitute, and listen to nonsense enriching pods all the way. Some pods smartened up and started taking AMA Cat 1 courses, but some state pod klubbers refuse to acknowledge them because—What do rheumatologists, neurologists, orthopedists, general surgeons (anyone other than a pod) know about feet or pastry? Maybe ask those mid 70 year old retired folks that still voluntarily attend podiatry conferences even though they appear to hate podiatry. maybe they can shed some light on if podiatry conferences are dead. If one willingly voluntarily attends in their mid 70s, retired, to keep economic options open, then likely they’re brain dead or in a precarious financial predicament.
Simple, stupid people consistently manifest themselves in podiatry. That’s why I eschew most of them and why I’m ashamed to be in the same field. They do not act gentlemanly and certainly not Doctoral. Until that type of thinker is gone, podiatrists will remain suspect and need permission from PA’s to cut TOENAILS…and don’t tell me you’re a surgeon and you don’t see TOENAIL patients! You’re not talking to your family or ersatz “friends”. I know you and I know podiatry you’re a toenail cutting arch support selling fraud from way back.
