Remember the old “if a tree falls in the forest but nobody hears it” question ? So if the APMA holds a meeting and nobody goes ? Well that’s what went on this past weekend. In case you didn’t know, the “The National” was this past weekend in Salt Lake City. That would be the APMA (absent podiatrists meet anyway).
Nobody is there. Well, the BOD and their friends are there. On your dime. Attendance is horrible. The lectures are horrible. The program is horrible. Thanks Executive Director James for your continuing nothingness. No commitment to producing a good educational program.
No commitment to advancing the profession for the average podiatrist.
Just another part for the insiders to pat themselves on the back, arrange consulting and lecture positions for themselves, aggrandize themselves, give each other awards, and misuse your dues.
I sure hope Barry Block didn’t bring too many PM baseball caps with him. Especially since the old Rhett dog poop hats have been harder to find of late. Exactly how much more of Lehrman, Traci, Mike, John, Rem, Jonathan, Jeff, Pat the Podiatric Pugilist, Dave, Warren, you get the idea, how much more of this do you want ?
It’s the same crap every year. It’s the same people every year. It’s the same embarrassment every year. Nero fiddles while Rome burns. APMA will use Barry Block and the APMA News to fake a successful meeting. They’ll give you a head count including hotel guests, employees, people walking near the hotel.
They will count exhibitors, repairman, BOD hired hookers. They will tell you it was just not the best location (who picked it Executive Director James ?).
They will tell you it was a bad time of year. They will tell you everything but the truth. This Executive Director caters only to his insider friends at your expense, and as a result the meeting sucks.
Sucks. Sucks. Sucks. And if you keep paying dues it will never change. It will be fungus toenails, equinus, fake children’s orthotics, faulty biomechanics, billing, coding, coding, billing, Ass Hole of Flames lunches, biopsies, creams, lasers, lotions, and ASPS, AAPPM, and Elliott the Idiot. Well as they say in the APMA, it ain’t over till the fat lady sings. Or more accurately, till the fat man sings. Ain’t that right BOD ? Save your money. Go to ACFAS. Go to a real medical seminar. Wake up already!
Of course Eddy is right. It doesn’t matter. But, what irks me is the nerve of the Lifers and APMA to “PRANCE AROUND” and say “we’re just like”. As if wearing a Sx top and doing a bunion makes you a SURGEON. I realized I spun the wheel and lost when I got to know what podiatry really was. If you truly believe that podiatry has made any advances to help generate an audience (as in folks knowledgable about it), try this: On your next order of checks, or charge card, have DPM in bold after your name, then use it. Being able to view the collapse objectively, like an historian–to know that every single empire or civilisation w/o exception ultimately withers into extinction–is something that only the tiniest % of dp wtfs can do.
