During this holiday of Introspection I ask that podiatrists realize and accept their VERY LIMITED POSITION AND STOP ( I said STOP!) “ACTING” AS IF THEY WERE DOCTORS UNTIL THEY HAVE TRULY ACCEPTED EQUIVALENCE BY MD’S. Introspect and accept that YOU’RE LYING when you say “you are a surgeon”. STOP LYING WHEN YOU SAY YOU’RE SCHOOLING WAS “JUST LIKE”. Stop lying when you say ORTHOTICS ARE “PRESCRIPTION DEVICES”. STOP LYING WHEN YOU SAY, WE ARE “THE” SPECIALIST of the foot. Clean and purify your LIFE BY STARTING WITH YOUR BRAIN. Accept that you DIDN’T GET ACCEPTED. Accept that the APMA… Read more »

What you say, “SHOFARS”, confirms that the Lifer-Liar class that CONTROLS PODIATRY POLITICALLY MAKE IT A DIRTY PROFESSION. Men with morality and sanity MUST overthrow (by financial starvation) this dirty class of men if podiatry is to survive, let alone evolve. Do not listen to their “sweet” lies and promises. Don’t join any of the “clubs”. Oppose and resist boards that are designed to LIMIT COMPETITION AND FORM TWO CLASSES OF PODIATRISTS. Perhaps(??) it IS TIME to consider boards that are less DICTATORIAL AND EXPENSIVE. The ABFAS has nestled itself in the cat bird seat through complicity with the APMA,… Read more »

These “exams” are a money maker and elicit major control for the shysters. They’re laughing their asses off at the med school rejects who jump through their hoops of diarrhea and empty promises of a someday. Think neurotic single waspy overcatted, odd ladies who are obsessed with organic this that the other.

My opinion are as follows: So long as prospective students understand that they may not be financially successful in this field, they still may apply. Money is not the reason to go into podiatry. Helping patients foot problems are. There are other more lucrative profession such as becoming a teacher etc…

MONEY is the only reason students apply because the profession just keeps repeating over and over …you can make big money. I’m not economist but I have been in practice 22 years and its getting worse and worse for reimbursement. APMA does nothing to help.

Well, I guess they can’t lie but I suspect the ACFAS wasn’t shy about saying the PA. pod sued for a million WASN’T A PAYING MEMBER. They said he wasn’t a fellow but I didn’t see that he was or wasn’t ABFAS certified. I don’t think it is a necessity to join the ACFAS if you’re ABFAS CERTIFIED. It is just another club you have to pay dues to BUT IS NOT REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION, or am I wrong? I know that the ABFAS will gladly TURN YOU IN IF YOU DON’T GIVE THEM THEIR MONEY. That threat is… Read more »

I was asked..”Can you handle a medical school curriculum which only 1% of the population can handle” LOL, I kept thinking about that question when I was in clinic cutting nails., then in my residency, cutting nails again.

WOW “FACTUAL”. That’s quite a conundrum and truly an introspective question. Something few pods dare to do. Who knows? With a quality MD education and all the help they provide to get students through you probably would have. What’s the old joke about, what do you call the first in med school class and the last in med school class? DOCTOR! The rez (MD that is) is where the rubber meets the road and you learn “hands on” how to be a DOCTOR. I don’t think there are many asking how many ATP’s are being used up in an ICU… Read more »

The questions I was asked for my NYCPM interview were all social. The interview was not even at the school because of the neighborhood the school was in. When I was meeting my first year classmates, they had a GPA of around 3.1 This was in the 1990s, today in 2024, things haven’t changed except there are few applicants to the schools. No one visits my office to ask about Podiatry as they did a few years ago.

3.1 GPA? With “grade inflation” that’s equivalent to about a 2.8 (tops) in my day.

A 3.1 Gpa likely from 2nd and 3rd tier undergrads in easy majors or watered down bio from eastwestmint college. Huckster U. Hustler U. Minoring summa cum lousy with a minor in hanging out or fellatio or cunninglus
It says in the background of the video, “how to become a FOOT AND ANKLE SURGEON”! It doesn’t say PODIATRIST! Admit it. NO ONE wants to be called a podiatrist! You know the “interview” is a fraudulent copy of what a REAL medical school does in ordere to make you think you got a second chance. They could really care less. Unless your a mass murderer (Oh wait, isn’t there a pod in jail for murdering his wife?) they only care about CAN YOU PAY THE TUITION and will you help recruit (SELL) other students into the foot school scam?… Read more »

That fake interview Robert was the major red fag. Incredulously asking if you really earned a Masters and the dipshit “interviewer” didn’t even get a Bachelor’s——VERY podiatrick
Confused about how any podiatrist can advertise they are a foot and ankle surgeon without clarifying to the public such a surgeon is a podiatrist with a limited license. Is this misleading the public?

Podiatry has been misleading (lying!) to the public and students for a half a century. That’s why its looked at as a disingenuous, untrustworthy, dirty profession. Either increase the education and EARN the respect or ADMIT YOU’RE NOTHING BUT A LIMITED LICENSED CHIROP-ODIATRIST and wait for the PA to clear your patient or give you permission to trim granny’s toenails. P.A.’S: Mainstream, full body license, full SYSTEMIC DISEASE treating license, everyone knows what P.A. means. (no one, not even the computer knows what dpm means) P.A.’s are being granted DOCTOR OF MEDICAL SCIENCE DEGREES IN MANY STATES AND IN ALL… Read more »

Exactly mr Chasskins. It’s intentional misrepresentation. The dpm foot and sometimes ankle “surgeon” must tell their customers that they are Not an MD, didn’t attend Medical School nor Acgme accredited residency, otherwise it may be fraud.
