The New APMA Executive Director Proves That Nothing Changes in Podiatry
Well, really nothing changes in podiatry. The new APMA Executive Director has not taken long to show that she is a piece of fecal material traveling through the APMA bowels just like the others.
Once again, the APMA has been selling lecture time for money. Suddenly every meeting has a lecture on diabetic neuropathy, basically selling spinal cord stimulators. And gee, can you imagine the company selling those stimulators gave a large grant to the APMA in exchange for lecture time.
Sagis has purchased time at meeting after meeting in the former BAKO manner. Only Sagis outbid BAKO for the lecture time. Same Bryan Markinson toenail lectures, just a different bag of money.
The Florida SAM meeting has lecture after lecture being given with educational grants which just happen to be given by companies which make products covered in those lectures. And of course APMA insiders like DeHeer, Reid, Block, Mendezoon, Williams, Lehrman are there lecturing for the free trip and honorarium.
And Michael Graham? The Michael Graham? The arthroereisis king? Yes Sir ! Nothing changes in podiatry.
The new APMA Executive Director, just another bag of shit for whom money takes precedence over ethics.It did not take long for the APMA gastric bioptome to convert the new Executive Director to the Frisch/Krause business model turd. This is one more good reason for the schools to empty and APMA membership to disappear. Corruption reigns supreme in podiatry. This is the fundamental principle the new Executive Director appears to have learned. In the end she will pass out the APMA rectum with the same smell as the others.
There are changes ! UNFORTUNATELY NOT IN A POSITIVE WAY. Applicant pool is way down and will continue going down as long as there are more PA and NP schools opening up and of course the osteopathic charge ahead, 2 new schools every year the next few years. Pod schools will have to start taking community college grads with a 356 MCAT score. Well stated and true. Be honest, the profession can not survive. What other health profession spends a million dollars to market podiatry to college students? in 5 years there will be 3 Pod schools and about 250 residency programs as 90% of graduates will work for a super group….as an employee.

All the discussion of the DPM degree being “so close” to an MD degree. Here is something to think about. Do you remember Covid ? Maybe you heard something about it. Podiatrists were not permitted to give vaccine injections. Pharmacists did. NPs did. Nurses did. DPM’s were not permitted in most places. Obviously he tried to get into a Medical School himself but had to do the off shore unlicensed route after realizing his wtf certificate was INFERIOR. Must have gotten your MD from a Caribbean medical school, which by the way they have more core rotations in clinical medicine (OB/Gyn, Peds, Psych, internal med) as a USA medical school, not so for the Podiatry colleges that scream in a vacuum, we have parity in education. Yeah, I had little choice like most podiatrists who were conned. Once you’ve gotten so deep into the con you have to ride it out. Perhaps a few may have had the where with all to start all over. I didn’t, but I can say that by using my broad LAB MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE I made podiatry much more medical then most foot techs. I am VERY bothered with what I read on this site. I have educated myself tremendously with the hanky panky that goes on inside with the higher ups in my profession. After much thought, I finally discontinued my APMA membership in 2025. I was very stupid for staying in and paying all these years. I just did not want to believe all the negativity that I read on this site.
