An Honest Review of the Podiatric Profession From Vendor’s Perspective
Did you ever notice that at a podiatry meeting people walk around with not only their name badges but essentially a variety of ribbons attached to their name badge ? For example some of them might say, president, vice president, board member, speaker, you know that type of thing. The time has now come to add another ribbon. It should simply say “FOR SALE”. After all, let’s face it. There are people in our profession that are nothing more than sales people. You give them money and they will talk about your product, acting like an expert, even if they’ve never used the product or seldom use the product or aren’t even active in practice. Why not make it easy for the exhibitors. All these people can be seen walking around from exhibitor to exhibitor asking to be made some type of consultant or lecturer or anything for money. So why not make it easy for the exhibitors to identify them. Just have a badge that says “FOR SALE”. For example Jeffrey Lehman. Here’s a guy that practices, I am told one day a week if that. How about Warren Joseph. When is the last time he was in practice treating patients ? He he has made a fortune speaking on any antibiotic or antifungal, or anything that has to do with infectious disease. How about Paul Kesselman. When was the last time this guy engaged in a useful active practice. David Armstrong ? John Guiliana ? Jonathan Moore ? How many products have they endorsed. I say let’s make it easy for the exhibitors. Give them the appropriate badge that simply states “FOR SALE”. Then again, considering the APMA Seal of Approval criteria and the careers of various APMA officers and board members, perhaps the APMA logo should also state “FOR SALE”. After all, everyone outside of podiatry knows, it is a profession that is for sale. And at a very cheap price.
Today Monday June 3rd, 2024 I’m watching the Congressional hearing examining Dr. Fauci’s role in Covid-19. Foot Technician, Brad Wenstrup is sitting high in the Dias questioning this M.D.. I can’t help but think that, dressed up in his fancy suit, this C+ podiatry student is challenging this world renowned MD clinician and researcher. Having been in podiatry in New York for >40 years I have witnessed that “NEW YORK” SLIMY IMMORAL PERSONALITY in many ways. Nearly all podiatrists, “DENY HIS DPM”. In my early years, I did too. But, upon further questioning, the end was always the same, I WAS CAUGHT, EMBARRASED, AND SORRY I DIDN’T TELL THE TRUTH. I found out it was better to admit it at the beginning. Distancing yourself from that ACTUAL MEDICAL SCHOOL REJECTION is difficult.
