Podiatry girls wearing over sized thick rimmed glasses to appear smart-even though they were likely on their backs during 3rd tier “school”. . Now it’s Ms professional lolol.
Also, what’s the “accomplishment” of the 30year propaganda run?

The accomplishment is that Barry and Hermine Block have a nice life off the advertisers who want YOU to make THEM RICH. For some pods, especially drop out ones like Barry Block, it’s about money and adulation to make up for their physical and psychological immaturity.

Attention: Dr. Bob Bijak Re: 30 year anniversary of PM News I cannot help but notice they have not yet printed your 30 year congratulatory note to Dr. Bloch. I know you wrote one in and it was probably a lengthy discourse and congratulatory letter. I suppose there were so many that preceded you that he has not yet had the time to print your letter. It’s kind of interesting to look at the people who have written in and congratulated the Dr. Bloch. Seems to me, it’s like watching the movie night of the living dead. I don’t think… Read more »

BARRY BLOCK HAS A HISTORY OF BANNING AND CENSORING MY TRUTH TELLING. I suspect when he saw where the commentary was coming from he banned it without reading or thinking about it. So very cultish. So very podiatric. So very New Yawk drop out Barry Block. Podiatry has some smart dudes in it but it appears to have more mediocre ones than smart ones. These non discerning podiatrists are the only way podiatry could continue the con and money extraction. Podiatry post is a wonderful publication because it lets me post my opinions on why everyone should pay money to qualify to join the APMA and state societies. It does not matter if state societies I feel are unsuccessful in increasing my scope. The importance is the fun meetings and friends met at meetings and socializing. Awesome meetings Please qualify for membership by paying money.

Disclaimer: not everyone is smiling at the meetings. There might not be enough bagged lunches to go around but there are teabags if one looks carefully.

Why and how did podiatry become controlled by a cult? We know Barry Block dropped out of podiatry to start his PM News advertising business and that he is in close with Lifers. Look who celebrates his business of “making podiatry look good”. Podiatrist Glickman, Kornfeld, Helfand, Kesselman are right there back slapping and congratulating the great con. You know the type. Where you offer something FREE in exchange for your e mail which number is SOLD to advertisers and converted into millions of dollars. Liebeskind, Teitelbaum, Weinstein,Ressler, Levy, Betschart. Where’s the diversity of opinion? “YASHAR KOACH” they say to their buddy Barry Block. Is PM news the ” VOICE OF “Lifer” Podiatrists” instead of “podiatrists”? It seems so. I guess it’s big news that a couple of pods were allowed to talk to OSTEOPATHS seeing they themselves couldn’t be D.O.’s. What’s the big news? The ASYMPTOMATIC FLAT FOOT and why it should be AGGRESIVELY treated. Yup, it doesn’t hurt, Doesn’t cause problems but it SHOULD be treated. Why do different physicians ask me why I didn’t go to medical school? Wait a second, podiatric medical school provided me with a list of medical texts to read. Those texts were very helpful. Very important to get updated editions. My opinion is podiatrists appreciate their podiatric medical colleges providing a list of texts to read. Those texts just might be the same texts medical schools recommend to medical students. Thus podiatric and medical school provided the means to acquire a complete medical education through reading texts. Then when in practice all that knowledge is useful especially when conversing with… Read more »

Robert, engaging in dialogue with strong opinions is often futile, and to an extent disturbing. Engagement often encourages inappropriate behavior. The continuous posts are “outside the scope” and the spirit of the commonality regarding the P, antithetic at best. Don’t feed the need to feed self serving, albeit pseudo-informative commentaries. No good comes from this. I don’t know what to make of the incessant “coaching?” other than the sound of distant thunder under the guise of sunny skies. Sometimes, reading the posts is enough, reinforcing with engagement perpetuates further commentary of a nature inconsistent with the general thrust to improve… Read more »

Of course you’re right Eddy. It’s MY weakness to engage the fool, Mr. Chaskin. Podiatry has wallowed so long in nonsensical mentation and misrepresentation that has gone unchallenged. Since the advent of The Podiatry Post, I’ve been able to exhaust a long retained steam, and that cathartic somewhat satisfies 40+ years of frustration with the blinded Lifer types and propagandists like Block and his PM News.

If a patient with pedal edema has a diuretic, this could be problematic if a patient has inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion leading to further hyponatremia. This may result in electrolyte imbalances and cause siezures etc….
This is why podiatric medical school is important, because they provide a list of medical texts to read so that a podiatrist can inform the patient’s primary of conditions such as the above. My guess most podiatrists are already doing things such as speaking with a patients primary physician regarding pedal pathology seen.

robert bijak

If a patient has pedal edema and is on a diuretic it was MOST LIKELY Rx’s by their M.D. who monitors electrolytes and attendant cardiac associations. This is Waaay OUT OF SCOPE for a NON MD FOOT TECH. Many years of INTERNAL MEDICINE makes the MD very competent in this COMMON SCENARIO. What do you think MD’s do? grind toenails and sell arch supports and shoes. THEY’RE DOCTORS not pretend technicians. MD’s don’t need podiatrists to talk to them about anything. As a matter of fact podiatrists get in the way. If there were no podiatrists people would be cared… Read more »

Mr. Chaskin, Let me tell you something BARRY BLOCK AND HIS PM NEWS WOULD BAN AND CENSOR. If an MD cannot know everything with a 3.7+GPA, superb MCAT scores, excellent medical school education, real hands on rotations IN ALL SPECIALTIES, YEARS AND YEARS OF ACGME TRAINING, AND SPECIFIC, RECOGNIZED SPECIALTIES IN ALL AREAS OF MEDICINE (except perhaps toenails and arch supports) then where does that leave “the inferior trained and educated podiatrist”? You’re wrong to say that a podiatrist is a “specialist”. Podiatry is NOT A RECOGNIZED SPECIALTY. It’s rarely even a choice to click on to read an article.… Read more »

The MD is not a specialist in everything else. Medicine has advanced to a point where a primary physician cannot know everything. This is why a primary physician refers to a dermatologist for a skin condition, or a podiatrist for a long toenail that needs trimming etc….
How many MD’s do you know from toenails?

So do nail salons, shoe salesmen and garbage men Mr. Chaskin. None of them, including podiatry, is as DOCTORAL as an MD or Ph.D. The dpm is still not recognized. Perhaps when the computer stops underling it in RED AS UNRECOGNIZABLE I may reconsider. Btw, many many MD’s treat skin condition and only refer when truly suspicious of a malignacy or if what they’ve been doing isn’t working. MOST skin conditions improve with steroids alone. If you think MD’s and PA’s need to refer to a dermatologist then CERTAINLY THE LESSER TRAINED AND EXPERIENCED FOOT TECH (dpm) SHOULDN’T BE PLAYING… Read more »

First of all MDs can biopsy a foot skin lesion have that biopsy be negative and the patient dies Because all the degrees in the world be it an MD or DO might miss structures and patterns invisible to the naked eye that the user of a dermatoscope will likely pick up on and save a life. Proper instrumentation and the knowledge how to use this instrumentation is more important than the degree of the individual diagnosing a condition. I lectured on this topic at Superbones East in 2017. I lectured at a podiatry dept of a local hospital etc…… Read more »

Caution. There unhinged podiatrist is capable of drawing their Dremel and burring through layers of fascia to tear apart your intestines, grabbing a kidney, and squeeze the common bile duct so tight your liver explodes. Apparently state legislators don’t agree with you Chaskin. That’s why they limit you BY LAW. Also, apparently the MD’s don’t agree with you because THEY WON’T EVEN SAY YOU’RE QUALIFIED TO TAKE THE MOST BASIC EXAM A MEDICAL STUDENT CAN TAKE.

Observing them in their office? It’s obvious you don’t understand how a REAL MEDICAL EDUCATION WORKS. Watcherships in offices are the province of foot techs. not actual DOCTORS. You’re WRONG IN NEARLY EVERYTHING YOU SAY. YOU ARE MAKING PODIATRY LOOK WORSE THAN IT IS AND THAT’S ALREADY PRETTY BAD.

Foot and ankle care can be done by anyone ! Cutting nails and trimming calluses is a job no one wants and therefore there is Podiatry.
