Old timer, KORNFELD, says he went from 55-60 patients a day (I wonder) down to 8 and he now makes MORE money than we he saw 55! I’d like to see those bills. While we talk about MD orthopods Barry Block sells space to STRENTHEN TOE MUSCLES! Old podiatrist BLANKEN got his son in the biz.. Lifers keep strengthening their base through nepotism. Get your kid in on the “con”. Roth and Kornfeld keep trying to have you believe you can DROP INSURANCE. Yeah, when you have a niche cult dedicated to you perhaps. Try the real world where a patient can go to an MD, PA, or a POD that ONLY bills your insurance. Unless you’re a dedicated cultist, you’re going to go where YOU DON’T have to pay. Accept it. Brother MD
I asked my brother, who is an ortho in a large ortho group if they use PAs. They have 4 PAs, they get paid 175,000 plus benefits and the group paid the PAs school loans off. The PAs take call and handle pathology from head to toe. All 4 PAs did an orthopedic residency program in a teaching hospital. So what you have here is a health care provider (PA) a part of main stream medicine, trained in a teaching hospital (ACGME) with excellent salary and benefits and most of all, credibility. Look at the chart in that article, there… Read more »

The PURPOSEFUL BLINDNESS of the APMA coupled with continued BRAINWASHING BY BARRY BLOCK’s PM news has CENSORED any URGENCY OF ACTION. Remember, that a large number of dpm’s are MEDIOCRE, not as DRIVEN as an MD, and more mercenary in their goals. All this adds up to an inevitable further marginalization of podiatrists. While pods are arguing about which board can take your money and claim they’re more like a DOCTOR than the other, MD’s FLANKED the DUMB pods with orthopedic P.A.’s. The need for podiatry has become further questionable. Eventually, the competency of MAINSTREAM orthopedic PA’s will be compared… Read more »

The problem is low IQ–little to no critical thinking, no independent analysis with an insatiable lust for money/greed. That will not change. It’s inherent to the dp wtf population. Group “think” mental midgets who are/were MD rejects. Now, it’s their “turn” to show em. Bad news bears. F troop. Sickos as Hallux Guy stated.

Hey students. Is this what you want? Look at podiatrist CORPORUSSO. Many years in business and he has to hype a I LOVE MY FEET DAY. What about Dananberg. I didn’t know he was still alive. He’s an arch support biomechanic from way back. He cites a case of one and says he INVENTED A “KINETIC WEDGE” that cured it. What’s a “kinetic wedge Irving”? You’ve got to be impressed how some people can make money out of nothing. Making something out of nothing is a REQUIREMENT IN PODIATRY. Look at Joel Segullman. Now read carefully. the “fun” thing about podupetry – podupetrists is they do not even know how bad they look to real doctors and other folks in the know. It’s like a clown, that doesn’t know he’s a clown. Big shoes, red nose, honky horn, silly afro red hair, yet thinks he ‘s a super model.
As Hallux aptly states, the ‘best’ pods can do is to write into BM news year after year after. 20yrs+ –nothing substantial has changed for the better. The same old problems, the unrecognized weird triad “degree” and more hopes for dopes. Keep writing in to barry, maybe someday over the rainbow perhaps changes can potentially occur. Oh, and keep a “positive” attitude…. dp wtf.

Seals and approvals mean Jack shit chasskin.

Reality...it's Traumatic
A “seal of approval” examination would indicate a de facto approval of a “podiatry product”. A tacet validation and complicit acceptance of what is being offered to even be considered for “approval seal”. To evaluate a “podiatry product” would basically mean that the entity is ok with podiatry and its’ products to even evaluate them–spending time-resources writing reports about the products, etc. Someone or something that is intent on ‘capsizing’ current podiatry would not even consider reviewing a “podiatry product” because it is inherently flawed. That is, the problem is structural and cannot be changed without getting rid of current… Read more »

Opinions #2
1. Cellulitis and edema in the diabetic foot. Which lab Hematologic tests do podiatrists order and why? For example do most order Magnesium and phosphorus, complete metabolic workup which do include liver function tests, kidney function, Cbc with diff, ESR, C Reactive protein, Glucose, Hemoglobin A1C. If Lupus is suspected with a vasculitis as per capillary scope exam with a dermatoscope why not consider an antinuclear antibody distribution. Then fax all results to the primary physician so they can treat the primary problem. I assume that most podiatrists already learned about these basics from reading medical texts, learning from physicians… Read more »

You’re catching on Mr.. In NY, ordering those tests by a podiatrist, will NOT be COVERED BY INSURANCE when ordered by “This KIND OF PRACTITIONER”. Insurers know podiatrists can’t treat this and an MD will want his own test from his own facility. So, the point is, PODIATRY JUST GETS IN THE WAY AND HAS NO PLACE outside of simple, local conditions. As someone who worked in MEDICAL laboratories for years, I can tell you it’s routine for DOCTORS to re run tests that are run elsewhere. No one wants to take on the legal jeopardy of assuming “others” testing… Read more »

Wait a second, how could any student possibly want to risk 4 years after college, hope to get matched with podiatric CPME approved residency for 3 more years and go into practice for only a limited scope. Because, Podiatrust, podiatry schools are a BUSINESS NOT AN ACADEMIC INSTITUTION. Just like any TRADE SCHOOL ( think ITT, welding, truck driving) the purpose is to trade teaching you a JOB in exchange for YOUR MONEY. Learning for the sake of learning is an abstraction left for ACADEMIC UNIVERSITIES. Learning to get a JOB TO MAKE A LIVING IS THE FUNCTION OF A MERCENARY TRADE SCHOOL. KIRBY’S latest newsletter on how to a ADD PLASTER wedge to a cast is a classic example of a manual shoemaker type trade.
