Podiatrist billed for stimulators he never inserted

First off, these stimulators should never be inserted in a foot, but then if you are not going to do it, you should just bill for it anyways.

Would you consider Optometrists who associate with funny glasses DOCTORS? No. Real DOCTORS deal with disease not sales. Likewise with Barry Block. Hello ! I would like to share my story. I am a first year medical student at American University of the Caribbean. My class here is at 144. So far its been hard but I believe it will be well worth it. I was a 3.48 GPA Biology major at University of South Carolina, I applied to USA med school and Osteopathic med school and did not get one interview. I applied to Podiatry college and chiropractic college. I got accepted to all the Podiatry Colleges, in fact I got accepted to one without an interview ! Then I started… Read more »

Another droll Monday starting for you to be ashamed of what you do. Are you going to take this? Those crooked controlling boards are reaping the wrath of those they flunked. So far, the MAJORITY of respondents feel you DON’T NEED THAT RIGGED, CONTROLLED, GREEDY SURGERY BOARD TO TOUCH THE ANKLE. You just can’t keep providing INFERIOR EDUCATION AND INSUFFICIENT MEDIOCRE APRENTICESHIPS (pods call them residencies) then require cases and testing above what they’re taught or expected to do with that LIMITED license. I’m pretty sick of this dirty profession that’s why I don’t recommend it. Nearly a half century ago a group of NY businessman et. al. concocted a SCHEME to take a Chiropody business and make it appear more than it is as well as become MORE LUCRATIVE. CIRCA 1970 someone came up with the ideal podiatric business. Eliminate the competition and keep the “good stuff” for yourself. Voila! Podiatry is similar in many ways to the immigrants who came to the US from Ireland, Italy, war torn Europe, and all sorts of places where they just weren’t welcome. I wonder if someone can “splain” to me how after all these verifiable, substantiable, historically provable truths, are presented decade after decade, that the “trade” still allows the same narrow minded, brainwashed, podo-politiicans to lord over them? Why don’t they say, hey I see your scam. Your lies don’t correlate with reality so, I’M NOT PAY’N. I’M NOT REFER’N, I’M NOT JOIN’N? SPAIN 2 ME PLEASE. They cannot, nor will not believe they’ve been duped. It’s a defensive posture.

They’re literally fighting for their psychological lives so they have to believe they’re doctors or their testing /training matters. It does not.

To acknowledge that would mean they were duped and lived a lie. Their life was a sham.

Hence, they will go to their grave living for someone else or some thing. Ivan Ilyich—Tolstoy or Death if Salesman-Arthur Miller explain this reality well.

You wouldn’t expect them to sell you a piece of plastic and tell you it will magically tilt you back to health. Many medical groups have a mandatory retirement age. It is usually 70. Many MDs don’t wait that long. They know they have to be on top of their game at all times. Podiatry does not have that concern. Anyone can cut corns and nails. Lucy Ling and her girls in the strip mall do it. Lloyd Smith (age 76 ) does. Also Dave George (82+). Trepal (74). There are many other chiropods in their late 70’s and middle 80’s still plying their craft. Once they go to that great corn pad in the sky. Podiatry will be no more. The… Read more »

In podiatry though, you still gotta have the shaloop, that manual dexterity to skive and clip so the rickety elders, a Chesterfield dangling from their lower lip whittle away, hacking up dollops of phlegm and waiting for that next big nail–the one they put in their coffin. My opinions: No one should independently perform procedures they are not competent at performing. If a podiatric resident can assist with ankle surgery, so can a podiatrist that is licensed to do so in states such as New Jersey and Florida. There should exist a uniform process whereby all members of a hospital staff assist others to gain additional training to upgrade their skill set. The quality assurance dept of a hospital oversees this uniform process etc…… Once this unform process to upgrade ones privileges is not avaible to every staff member and becomes a selectively enforced process to upgrade… Read more »

One. Funny who folks refer to themselves in the first person to justify a position. Podiatry and its training is so diverse that any of the ONES can purport to doing anything within the state scope of practice. Pods teaching pods in non-LCGME facilities at/with supervision by pods is not an adequate solution to the disparity among podiatrists and their uniformity in training. Robert just refreshed my mind. Dave is his real name. He also had a stage name of “Hugh”. This was years ago. We think he has re-surfaced under a new stage name of “Justin”. He practiced in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a podiatric lifer that loved all aspects of the profession.

Who is this Dave guy, Robert ? I have been around here for years. Is he some guy that use to fight and argue with your comments many years ago. Was he 100% pro podiatry. Loved the profession. His office got referrals from the emergency rooms, collaborated with MD’s. The MD’s and the hospitals sent his office patients, etc.
There was someone years ago who argued every point you made. If you said white, he would say black. What the hell was his name ? Dave maybe, I’m not certain.

There was a Lifer’s lifer who threw himself on the podiatric caduces when his beloved trade was exposed. Lifers use all kinds of names to pretend there are more of them than really exist. Pseudonyms (nom de plume’s) are supposedly protections from the many factions and cults in podiatry that would seek retribution. Podiatry has a dirty unforgiving faction in it. One such lifer went under the name HUGH. When I figured out his real name he went ballistic. I know who he is, but for Seth’s sake, I won’t reveal it. You’re “getting warm” though.

Take a shot, vote negative against the truth, then run to their lifer’s enclave. I’d give his last name but I THINK (?) Seth doesn’t want to comprimise those that wish to remain annonymous.

Hey Robert, many patients cannot afford orthotics.
It is not about making money. One can excavate parts of a sneaker to offload certain areas and use felt inside other parts of the shoe to dramatically alter bait. All this can be included within the visit so there really isn’t any selling items to patients. Thus patients are happy and spread the words to other patients. This is what podiatry is all about. Helping others.

Gee, I wonder what happened to my detailed repy to Danny. In sum, maybe people can’t afford orthotics because dirty podiatrist mark them up so high. Block advertises orthotics for $45/pair and some podiatrists charge between 500-$800!

Podiatry is not about keeping people happy. It’s for giving the podiatrist a business to support HIMSELF. The “patient” is only a tool to make money.
