Vote early, vote often.  PM News is taking a poll regarding the CAQ (certificate of added quackery) in surgery being huckstered by Mr. Lee Rogers.  Actually, PM News is the ideal population for such a survey.  The ads are a literal display of shysters and con artists in our profession.  Always has been.  The readership asks basic questions such as how do I fix a toenail in a 3 year old.
The regulatory and academic foundational organizations in podiatry, such as they are, have resoundingly said NO !   But like a typical democrat, Mr. Rogers continues his assault on the credibility of our profession.  He states in his latest propaganda that over 300 flunkies took the ABPM surgical quiz.  These are probably collectors of paper only credentials such as ABLES and ABMSP or the many phony certifications from Florida.
To be quite frank, who gives a flying horse hockey what the PM News poll says ?  Not only about the CAQ, but about anything. 

The most profound insight on this matter was brought up by our Pod Post colleague Robert.  Think about his question carefully.  He asks how someone, even with the limited intellectual capabilities of some podiatrists, can:

1.  Go to 4 years of foot school.
2.  Do 3 year residency in foot stuff.
3.  Not be able to pass ANY test about feet ?

How is that possible ? 

Now we have another phony credential for the frontal lobe challenged orthotic sellers and corn and callus specialists in white coats. 

This “profession” is now like an old dog.   It’s had good years.  Was fun.   But it is now suffering, and needs to be put to sleep.
