10 Good Reasons to go to the APMA National Meeting

10 Good Reasons to go to the APMA National Meeting

1.  It’s a great opportunity to pick up a Covid infection.  The FPMA and Region 3 spread the disease.  If you haven’t had the chance to pick up a nice respiratory infection, here’s your chance.

2.  Ah, Orlando in summer time.  Just the spot to be.  If humidity and insufferable heat are your thing, this is the meeting for you.

3.  It’s another chance to hear Jeffrey Lehrman speak.  This would be what, the 10,000th time, with the same platitudes and talk on proper codes.      Well, when you practice one day a week and are a consultant, why not gives talks for money.

4.  Another outstanding “scientific program” awaits you.  The best presentations that money can buy.      More fungus toenails, take more biopsies, whatever else those providing “unrestricted educational grants” determine will be the lecture topics.

5.  Great chance to see the APMA officers.  You know, those geniuses helping to advance this profession.  Follow the saliva dribble to meet Dr. Santi.     Follow the food to meet Dr. Krause.   Follow the stupidity to meet Dr. DeSantis.   Follow the I’ll consult with anybody to meet Dr. King

6.  Attend the Hall of Fame luncheon.   Great chance to hop-nob with quite a collection of all-stars.   Start with Hal Ornstein.   It goes down from there.

7.  Remember, free food in the exhibit hall.   Well, some munchies anyway.  Well worth the current inflated airline and hotel ticket prices.  What does a muffin cost these days ?

8.  Spend some time in the exhibit hall.  These poor bastards were suckered into paying to be there.  Shoes, nail treatments, shoe inserts, crap you can sell will be on glorious display.

9.   Attend the ASPS surgery program.   However, don’t be on the lookout for actual published and accomplished surgeons.

10.  Make certain you say thank you to the Executive Director.   Who else could have advanced podiatry like he has.

The main reason to go is that YOU NEED A REASON to stay in podiatry. A booster shot of lies is necessary q 6-12mo. otherwise logic, common sense and sanity would drive you out. (except if you’re a narcissistic lifer or a greedy businessman). 45 years of fungus and pronation and 150 ways to do a stupid bunion none of which are that much better than the other. Ho hum, when your license is SO LIMITED you have to find something to occupy your mind. Aside from an MD lecturing or a rare talented podiatrist like Larry DiDomenico, podiatry lectures… Read more »
