It has been noticeable but there has been a 70-80% increase in job postings for Podiatrists in the past year. Some of it is probably just the Pandemic coming to an end and Podiatrists being able to hire again with renewed financial strength. But a large part of this is Super Groups have just made it easier to hire more Podiatrists. It’s simple,really. It’s hard to go from one Podiatrist to Two Podiatrists but it’s a lot easier for a Super Group to go from 8 to 9 Podiatrists. It’s simple math, really. Now whether this corresponds to increased income for the new hires is difficult to ascertain. But it most likely is resulting in more job prospects for Podiatrists.

The amount of pods still working thru their 70’s and 80’s is staggering. Most state that since they cannot sell their practices, they do not have enough money to retire. The lifers “love” what they do. Grifters one and all. But that is a different story. Even when you read about someone joining a group after 10 or 15 years in practice, you know it is because his practice sucked wind. What’s going to happen to the newbies with their 6 figure student loans. Retirement might be a term unknown to podiatry.
