Read the ACGME rules and regulations. They are free online. Read them.
If your education and degree are not recognized, which they are not, why would you believe that more unrecognized education will somehow lead to MD equivalence.
So called educators such as Dr. Leonard Levy and Dr. Lawrence Harkless have had every opportunity to convert the “podiatry experience” but failed to do so.

I don’t know where our government gets statistics from but the podiatrists I know are not doing well at all. 2 just retired. Couldn’t sell their practices. Just closed their doors and made a vain attempt to sell their equipment. Several more, younger pods work for a large medical group. One has 4 years post tech school “training “. Limited to basic Chiropody. No one is a member of the APMA. Huge student loans. Not a happy group. Salary not equal to a PA. Removal of osteomyelitic bone, use a dermatoscopic pre debridement of outside and inside of skin, have a lab report and targeted antibiotic powder into the wound, offloading, series of debridements.
Problem is that prior to ulcer debridement,a map of which structure s to debride is provided with an image of polarized light. This avoids unnecessary debridement of collagen.
My opinion Experimental Dermatoscopic wound care might not only be limited to podiatry. MDd might be interested.
This might mean less surgical major amputation cases for residents, but think of the potential to prevent pain suffering and morbidity.
Write a manuscript and submit to NEJM, JAMA, Archives, etc…and see what they say Danny. Thanks!

I am a 4th year student at Michigan State Univ. I got into Osteopathic Medical school. Thought I would post this>>> my research into Podiatry revealed a profession that has no goals, no respect, false advertising, splintered groups and making someone do 7 years of education for a limited license makes no sense. Also. when visiting Podiatrists in the Michigan area, too many said, don’t do it, go to med school. Was asked to post this by my friend who is a DPM, third year in practice and starving.
