We are told that podiatrists are “THE” EXPERTS of the foot. Why would anyone question the expertise of the ONLY Terminal Specialist of the Foot? People become podiatrists and non-doctor doctors is b/c they couldn’t get into med school. It strikes most that is someone wanted to become a physician, he would go to med school. Thus, wonder if podiatrist and other non doctor doctors etc. schools are a sort of second/third chance club…..A brotherhood of losers and flunkies?
How did podiatry become different from regular medicine? That is, there are likely other medical procedures that could be performed by non-doctor doctors. Why did they stop at feet? Why isn’t there handiatry?
