There was a study comparing Orthopedic Surgeons vs Podiatrists for Ankle Fusion surgery

Apparently they did a study comparing the outcome of Ankle Arthrodesis based on the surgeon that performed the procedure. Now there is pre op and post op comparisons included in this story. But it is fairly clear that the Orthopedic surgeons came out ahead. I think the biggest issue that Podiatry faces is there are surgeons who should be doing Ankle Fusions and some that should not, and they are going to kill the averages.

Yeah, you’re right lifer. You’re so smart. No one can fool you. Maybe you could have been a DOCTOR. Do you actually think you’ll stop the exposing of podiatry’s inferiority? Ain’t gonna happen, but keep repeating it, if it makes your brain feel better. And, I think your brain does need to feel better.

1. Tells folks not to support podiatry, starve them financially, boycott podiatry and its organizations including propagandists like the shyster barrister and his minions-which IS justified. 2. Has reasonable and appropriate inputs/criticisms regarding podiatry and its false -fake “leaders. 3. Tells folks not to support podiatry, starve them financially-amen. States that podiatry must clean up its act and become more scientific and the status quo must be challenged-yup!.THEN————- 5.. Pays several hundred dollars and time away to listen to DP WTF imbeciles teach about pediatric foot, plastic garbage, etc. to have an “opportunity” “options” for the podiatric “license” even though… Read more »

Sibley—Says “starve them financially,” Podiatry is inferior, etc. and then willfully pays $525 and time attending podiatry bullshit to maintain podiatry “opportunities “ as a retired boomer?!?! Wtf? Talk about cognitive dissonance, he hates podiatry and rightfully so, yet willfully financially and time wise supports it?!? Hypocrite. Maybe it’s an age thing?

Yes, the mixed up foot technicians are rationalizing with a frenzy in Barry Block land. It’s a land for lifers. Let’s exam the pathology. One non MD tries to defend biomechquactics. He says if one just learns the TRICKS OF THE TRADE HE’LL NEVER LEARN THE TRADE. Well, isn’t that podiatry? Just learning the minimum (the tricks) to get by without learning all of medicine like AN ACTUAL DOCTOR does? One arch support lover says “you have to MASTER BIOMECHQUATICS to become an expert”. I guess, then, MD’S ARE NOT EXPERTS because they don’t learn the podiatry way. Funny, thousands… Read more »

Yet pay to keep a podiatry “license” since it’s so mediocre, conartists, and Educationally stunted folks. Starve them financially……Hypocrite.

Yes, the podiatric politicians and faculties have FAILED to keep podiatry relevant and needed. Maybe that’s why so few apply to be foot technicians. I suppose you couldn’t have expected limited licensed and knowleged technicians to be able to raise anyone above their level. Podiatrists produce podiatrists to do PODIATRY. The Peter Principle at work. No one becomes more. That’s why the same conditions are proselytized in schools and seminars. (fasciitis, pronation, mycosis, arch supports, and their biomechquacktics) Too bad the 9 podiatry franchises feel threatened by having too many MD’s around. Podiatry. Not the economically succulent trade it was… Read more »

Why did you attend that conference? Be a man of integrity, honor your word please. You preach to many about starving them financially. Yet, you waste your time, and PAY $525 to listen to a 30 and 40year olds lecture you about feets and ankles, and hang with losers.

We’re both elderly, and don;t care that you dont care for the verbiage. Please dont be a hypocrite. Either support them, or dont. Why keep any “license” for podiatry if you thought it was so awful?

Since you mention a Podiatrist should have a full license, the lack of a full license has destroyed the profession…here is your medical group>>> an MD/DO , an NP , a PA….all full licensed professionals. The quality of Pod grads has dropped in the past 10 years and it wasn’t that high before then.

Let us be honest here. You have a university graduate with a 3.87 GPA that goes to a real medical school and does a real 5 year orthopedic surgery residency in an ACGME teaching hospital. Then you have a 3.01 GPA university grad going to a Podiatry School and then doing a 3 year Pod residency in a non teaching , non -ACGME 175 bed hospital. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? Private Podiatry Practice is gone ! Getting a job with a group is just that…a job. NO ROI going to Pod school and ……PAs and NPs will and are doing… Read more »

Remember, smiling, clapping, and nodding are very important in the foot and sometimes ankle club for future leaders. Also, kissing a mean tuchas!

And even if somehow they were able to get a full license, who would you go to if it counted? The 3.01 GPA or the 3.87? I would suspect that the average GPAs of NPs and PAs are higher than most poddies. How in heaven’s name would they able to get through the coursework? Private practice is over; that ship has sailed. Job with a group? Won’t be with orthopods with a few exceptions. One I can think of is a poddie that’s married to one of the orthopods in that group. Why would they want wtfs when they can… Read more »

The only way a podiatrist could get into medical school is as a cadaver (Caddy Pod).
