Podiatry and the Complications of Using Synthetic Drugs

Podiatry and the Complications of Using Synthetic Drugs

Podiatry is one of the most exciting branches of medicine, focusing on the study of diseases affecting the lower extremities. The primary role of a podiatrist is to treat people with foot problems, including fungal nail infections, bunions, foot odor, tissue damage, and sports-related injuries, among other conditions.

While working in different settings, podiatrists care for patients with severe foot conditions caused by diabetes, kidney problems, arthritis, and blood disorders. They are health care professionals and supportive partners in keeping your feet healthy. More than preventing and correcting deformities, podiatrists may give you advice on the types of shoes you should be wearing and guidance about how to care for your feet.

The Relationship Between Foot Health and Drug Addiction

Caring for your feet is caring for your body. Part of this care involves learning about drugs and how they may affect us. For example, people may ask questions about specific drugs, such as Is K2 addictive? That is a question you may hear from young people and others who are curious about K2, a drug that is known by other names, including spice and synthetic marijuana.

According to the National Institutes of Health, K2 is increasingly becoming a substance of choice among members of the younger population, most notably in the southeast region of the United States. It is a mixture of plant matter and synthetic chemicals.

Drugs such as K2 are psychoactive substances, which mean they affect the brain. Just like the substance delta-9-tetrhyrdocannabidol (THC) found in marijuana, ingredients found in synthetic cannabinoids such as K2 and its variants affect the brain’s reward system and may trigger strong effects. K2 is made from man-made chemicals that mimic the effects of cannabis.

Smoking or vaping K2 is not only mind-altering. The substance also affects your body’s overall condition. It increases your risks of acquiring infectious diseases caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites. An addicted person is more likely to suffer from soft-tissue infections caused by neglect and carelessness. People may develop scrapes and foot infections along with complications such as diabetes and kidney problems.

Restoring Your Health with Podiatric Medicine

Foot health is often an underestimated part of our wellness, but good foot health is important to good overall health. Because K2 and other illegal drugs often contain unknown chemicals and chemical compositions that change from dose to dose, the question is more than Is K2 addictive? It is also Is K2 life-threatening?

In both instances, the answer is yes. No one should suffer the consequences of addiction, including sustaining lower extremity injuries because of drug misuse. Your feet are not only critical body parts but parts that help you perform your regular activities without complications.

But addiction may a tremendous toll on your body. If it causes irreversible damage to your kidneys and pancreas and makes you vulnerable to infections, a podiatrist may help. Since your lower extremities are susceptible to cuts and bruises, a podiatric specialist may help maintain your foot health to avoid complications.

Diabetes may be one of the long-term effects of continued drug use. It may make people susceptible to infections, even if they have minor wounds. Podiatrists are experienced in treating people with diabetes and other conditions. Sites such as Podiatry Posts may give you an insight into the world of podiatric medicine and the benefits it offers.

Not only is K2 addictive, but its effects may produce long-term suffering if people do not seek proper intervention. Podiatry may provide this intervention and may help promote good health in general.

It hands out baseball caps. It banned Robert. It had silly stories about which black person, oriental, Iranian, fugly anglo womyn, or Indian getting an employee job in some scum bag DP wtf office. It called national HQ when anyone criticized the grrrreat field of foot and sometimes ankle. It was a propagandist. It has outrageous shoe of the day. It has plastic sh-t for sale. It has losers writing in about which cars to drive and fat slobs talking about sales tactics. It was a piece of feces. It has propagandists screaming how grrrreat podiatry is. It was kyphotic… Read more »

Gee Flabbershaw …………………………………………. Could you possibly be referring to Barry Bloch, the NERD and EDITOR that never made it in the foot trade or the legal trade ? I’ll bet so ! I always said that Barry Bloch has dark brown lips from kissing the asses of the lifer leaders (AKA BOD).

Maybe someday that fat slob with the sales tactics, Rem Jackson, will sit on Barry Bloch and turn him into a pancake NERD. I assume the guy writing in to ask what kind of car to drive is Bloch’s regular Elliot Udell.

A little more. No matter what you are told or what you THINK podiatry is, the reality is podiatry still remains 60% a joke. In 2019 we still hear of Rotating foot signs, BARBI FEET, HIGH HEEL DOC OF RODEO DRIVE and about another New York foot technician who STOLE a million dollars and is going to jail. For a trade consisting of about 12,000 there’s an awful high percentage of thievery. I guess those 3 year apprenticeships haven’t reduced the fraud or increased the license for most. “LIVING the LIE” DAILY has to erode the psyche. Only the most… Read more »

The funny thing about Dr. Roufaiel expose on his plane trip is that the Podee identified himself as “board certified”! Still, he stayed in his seat and was quiet as a mouse! I thought those guys (Board Certified) were smarter than the average Podiatrist??!!

He IS “smart”. He knew he was just a podiatrist and his “medical” duties relegated as : elective bunions in crazy single white cat ladies and scraping dead skin from fat feet.

Well, tell that to almost 1/3rd of my class that didn’t get a “residuncy”, when several of the “future residunts” didn’t pass National Boards Part II. Yeah, right…

Well, Jeff and Greg, You won’t hear that story from MISTER Blockhead or at any APMA RAH RAH “WE’RE JUST LIKE” conventions. It’s a great story and it factors out that complex “PODIATRIC POLYNOMIAL” to ZER0 (0!). That foot technician sat with his callused fingers clenched around the arm rests. He knew all his BIOMECHQUATIC REAR FOOT VARUS, COMPENSATED EQUINUS WAS NON MEDICAL QUACKERY JARGON USED TO MAKE AN ARCH SUPPORT SALE. And, wearing a mask and looking “just like” a surgeon only to do an ELECTIVE BUNION ON A MIDDLE AGE LADY is medically useless in the real world… Read more »

Robert,

Barry is a moron. He would not understand what you just stated above. And let me tell you, Hermine, his wife married a non doctor and a non attorney. She only married a nerd with thick rimmed glasses.

Podiatry was a dirty field. It was a bad profession led by bad “men”. Stay away from podiatry like one stays away from arsonists and druggies. Bad to the bone.

The funny thing about Shlock is that he wouldn’t let others talk. Talk and buy the f out. Let the chips fall where they may. But no.

Rather, he had to interject and massage the podiatry realm into something potable, something savory to give the illusion of “positivity” and of course, line his shyster pockets.

What a sick kindergarten profession (trade actually). Despite his need to keep making money as the Chief Propagandists for podiatry even Barry Bloc sometimes has trouble finding anything good about podiatry. Look at the nonsense. Big, Big New York. The foot trade was FOUNDED THERE. THE first franchise selling seats to become a non MD foot technician was there. New York City heralds itself as THE center of activity in the U.S.. Well, what do NY foot fakers claim? Well, they claim they’ve discovered that there’s an EPIDEMIC IN NEW YORK! AN EPIDEMIC OF THAT DEADLY DISEASE….PLANTAR FASCITIS! oooh! Poor… Read more »

What the hell did you just write? Wowsa, you know how to butcher a sentence. One day I’d love you to post a copy of the letter you send to referring doctors. That letter must be a nightmare. Kids are off of school for the summer. You can probably find an elementary school age kid to write your posts. I’m sure the posts will be much more grammatically correct and coherent.

Arrogant. Am I arrogant because I expect someone who is a professional to write ONE coherent sentence? How is that arrogant? You’d think that after getting ridiculed you’d do anything and everything to answer in a coherent manner. You write like a caveman. “I come site to learn and share”. WTF? I

Are you ‘effen nuts? Podiatrists cut toenails and sell arch supports. Their competence with anything but a very limited number of minor medicines is minimal. You need to be smok’n K2 to believe that podiatry, life saving, and lower extremity salvage is anything but an extremely minor part of podiatry. Essentially mathematically insignificant. Most drug companies never advertise in podiatry magazines because there are so few podiatrist in the first place and laws prevent podiatrists from prescribing in a systemic condition. There are real drugs and synthetic drugs and there are real doctors and “synthetic” drs. ( podiatrists, optometrists and… Read more »

Robert, HERE IS FURTHER PROOF OF WHAT YOU’VE BEEN SAYING FOR YEARS!John Roufaiel 10 hrs · Since graduating medical school a year ago I’ve had to deal with two emergency situations in the general public, one of them today on a plane. Last month it was abdominal/chest thrusts in the mall to expel food from choking and today an elderly gentlemen on the plane from Ft. Lauderdale to New Jersey presenting with dizziness. Spanish-speaking Cuban man in his 80s with his wife of 62 years marriage and while she cried and panicked I was hoping a board certified physician was… Read more »

You know Jeff, the patient COULD have had severe forefoot varus. Medical school makes you lose that sense of awareness, residency ingrains it. As for ‘board certified’ pod on the plane: Sort of like the Samuel L. Jackson movie Snakes on a Plane, but that’s not here or there. Getting involved in a crisis is a very good deed, the knowledge flows automatically—residency hones it in, and in a few years that stuff’ll be just a natural response—As the years go by, you sort of get that, “don’t want to get involved” sense, but do it anyway. Congratulations. Did the… Read more »
