1. Its amazing to me that an organization that runs a yearly conference would trout out the same Speakers lecturing about the same topics year after year. And I expect people to play a thousand dollars to travel and listen to these people. The sad part is some of these lecturers are considered jokes and discredit throughout Podiatry. They had Ben Weaver lecture about practice management a year after he filed bankruptcy. All these decisions over time added up.
2. The complete and utter failure that is ASPS, so the APMA split from ACFAS, and has spent the last decade spinning their wheels as they have been incapable of developing a single competent speaker that would put butts in the seats. Quick, name the chair of ASPS. Name a well known and respected Podiatric surgeon that lectures for ASPS. Combine that with the fact that a lot of Podiatrists are now in medical and orthopedic groups they want to hear lectures on new innovative treatments or surgeries. Not lectures on how you can double bill for calluses now.
3. People got tired of the company shrills. If you were a Podiatrist and went to the APMA National conference and listened to a bunch of lectures you are probably in possession of a couple pieces of equipment that are effectively worthless now. Do you own or have interest in an ESWT machine or a laser for toenails? The APMA brought in lecturers to tell you to purchase that stuff and become rich. Hell, are you in jail for prescribing Balance Braces?? Who knows but at least the checks cleared for these APMA meetings.
4. Niches. This is a problem for the APMA. If you run a general meeting you get attendees that are interested in general topics. The APMA can not just run a surgical conference or a practice management conference, but you know who can? ACFAS or the AAPPM, they can. So anybody interested in those subsets and only wants to listen to those subsets is attending those conferences.
5. The Internet. The fact is in most states you can now earn half your CMEs online, and the states have not increased the CME requirement. So right there you now have Podiatrist attending half the amount of meetings they did in the past. It used to be APMA National was a way to get a ton of credits in one trip. Now, if I want to, this morning I can go to ten different websites and I find ten different ways to obtain online CMEs just look here:
Online options for earning CPME credit for Podiatrists – Podiatrysurgerybooks
Or say you want to learn about Podiatry Coding. I mean there are free sites dedicated to this with freaking lectures on coding right at your fingertips. This is what the APMA Is competing against and all this stuff is half the price with half the hassle of travel.
Video Lectures – Podiatry Coding
So why are people go to pay for lectures when you can listen to them free online? The Genie is out of the bottle for the APMA and there is no way for them to put it back in. The future is here and the APMA missed it.

Dear Insurance Executives, I’m going to save you MILLIONS. Think of this. EVERYTIME a patient goes to a podiatrist for ANYTHING except corn, callus scraping or toenail trimming your company is losing money. Because podiatrists ARE NOT SPECIALISTS IN ANYTHING they mostly guess. They guess at 99% of their skin cases. A REAL MD SPECIALIST GETS IT RIGHT FASTER AND FIRST. Podiatrists know nearly nothing in NEUROLOGY except that Diabetes can cause Neuropathy. They know very little else and couldn’t treat it legally anyway. Surgery? Most do the most minor kinds of things that any MD orthopod does easily and… Read more »
Hi everyone it’s seems to quote Albert Einstein we can’t solve problems using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them . Somehow us and the Podiatry leadership needs to do this !
1. Podiatry “leadership” were morons, and will NOT enact any real change for the better b/c they enrich themselves off of podiatry sales. 2. Even if podiatry could ‘change’, what would be worth preserving, it’s feces, it’s irrelevant/redundant technician work, 3. No one is going to change anything substantially. 4. Sure, Podiatry needs to go away like buggy whip salesmen, and diaper deliveries, typewritters, and corded phones, but because DP WTFS were so stupid or ignorant, they trusted prezy fat Krotch to represent them, . 5. Chiropody is/was needed, however, the SOBs wanted to be doctor like and got a… Read more »
Well stated rob – how would like to be a new Podiatrist in this environment-uglyyyy
Is Doctor Michael Trepal from the NYC school still looking to collect more money from Bradley Bakotic.
Does Dr. Trepal still wear a Rhett baseball cap with a smile ?
The two donations that Dr. Bakotic gave to the NYCPM totaling $200,000. had to be the reason Dr. Trepal initially invited Brad to deliver the commencement speech at the school one year ago. You think ? ? ? Silly silly Dr. Trepal, did not use his noggin. I guess Dr. Trepal could not believe Brad was having sexual encounters behind his wife’s back. Stupid stupid Dr. Trepal and Dr. Bakotic.
Robert, my vote is for #1. #2 is not attainable. Too little, too late. Lower GPAs and MCAT scores don’t equal a shot a real doctor school. And even if the tides turned, who would you go to when it really counts? The MD/DO or the DPMwtf/MD? Major league or AA? I know who I would see. Just like Robotsky did after his accident. Podiatry needs to be put out of its misery. Just like a horse with a broken leg… “bam!”. An interesting read was the Blockhead editorial in the June/July issue of BM news. The sweat is starting… Read more »
Amen Greg. Just like Trump wants to make america great, we need to make podiatry disappear. “Put it out of its’ misery” already and stop tricking folks into 6 figs of non-dischargable student loan debts w/interest. YEP–“self certifying” and “self-regulated” podiatry “boards”—–read: Welcome to the world of the fked. No ACGME, no LCME, nothing. Just greedy baby boomer (yes, there a few good ones, most are POS though) slime like Gassy worth and the boys. Anyone with an IQ>37 will know to stay the f away from podiatry.
Purdy is no joke. Those podupetry boards have NO 3rd party oversight. They “self” certify. ……….
Unlike real medical specialties. Make podiatry disappear already. Fraudsters, conmen, and other grifters.
But he did sing a mean I gut da blues, from ma head down to ma shoes for the practice mismanaging klub
Doc Not Sibly,
I got out of the AAPPM when I realized it was just like the Amway pyramid.
It was Rembrandt Jackson on the piano. Singing along, “I got the podiatry blues from my head down to my shoes” was Bankrupt Benjamin Weaver, John Guilliana and that New Iberia, Louisiana ass hole Jon Dirty who is rah rah rah Earl Horwitz from the ABMSP. Ass Holes of the foot and sometimes ankle.
Thank you; you’re right about that “organization”.
John Purdy Boy is just another lifer asshole. Bigger and dumber than most. How do you get board certified without the clinical training ? You just take a test, submit toenail trimming pictures, and you’re board certified in geriatrics ? No residency. No fellowship ? You take a test that any moron like Big John can pass and that’s it ? They have an MIS board. They have a surgery board. They have a diabetes of the foot board. WTF are these ? Frauds. They subdivide the foot docs more than anyone. And oh yeh you pay for these phony… Read more »
You’re right about these grifters. Slimey “men”. All trying to sell something and anything to the next dipshit.
THx not I believe in end we should let md community take over all Podiatry and run it right!
Why would they (MDs) want it? Podiatry is a rotten house in a bad neighborhood complete with squatters. It’s time to cut and run, or demolish the house and built a community garden where homeless can sleep, defecate ala San Fransicko, and/or folks can get good nose candy.
I made a decision today. I am definitely going to attend The National in Mormon country. I want to see the gastric bypass reject Rembrandt inducted into the Barrister Hall of Shame. I also want to hear what bankrupt Benny Weaver has to say when he roasts the gastric bypass blow hard. This includes Johnny “Good Boy” Juilanna and the Kentucky Moore-on with his balance brace. They all sleep in the same bed. BTW will Jim Christina be sharing a hotel room with Jeff Lehrman at The National. You betcha !
Do you think Gassworthless will show up and ride the elevators? 990s stated compensations north of 500K and First Class flights for himself and spouse. Caddy Pod stated he looked like Gilbert Gottfried the C minus comedian with the glazed fake smile.
At the New Yawk clinical meeting in Times Square it is required that the Executive Director rides the elevators up and down from the 5th to 6th floors over a 3 day period. They look busy and smile at all the foot docs that cannot touch an ankle in NYS.
Do you think he’s in his 2nd home in Hawaii? YOUR dues helped pay for that. Think about that as you get ready for another shitty work week actually DOING podiatry.
THANKS FOR THE LINK EDDY. Every technician on the first day in one of their 9 franchise locations should watch this everyday in their first year. BTW, “ALL PODIATRISTS ARE CREATED EQUAL” BUT ONLY EQUAL TO EACH OTHER IN THE CESSPOOL. wtf=MD? No way senor. Podiatry needs a “Revolutionary War” within
WE told you! Podiatry is UNRAVELLING right before your eyes. What we warned YOU about years ago is coming to fruition and lifers are just now catching on, perhaps too late. Look at the DESPERATENESS IN THE CESSPOOL NEWS OF BARRY BLOCK. You know the non practicing podiatrist-lawyer who banned and censored TRUTH TELLERS in order to keep his relationship between VENDOR-ADVERTISERS AND APMA LIFERS CONNECTED. More and more articles QUESTIONING WHO WE ARE! WHAT are we?! Why have schools failed? Now you ask these questions? Shouldn’t the FOOT COLLEGE FRANCHISE OWNERS SETTLED THIS BEFORE THEY STARTED SELLING SEATS? Lifer’s,… Read more »
They won’t wake up. They mentally masturbate some light topics with hopey dopey changey someday rhetoric, and then back to status quo of podiatrick proclamations, declarations, and hearings/committees/minutes and nothing.
I have open question in state after state podiatrist billing high number e an m – wtf is reason?!!!?? They be meeting with government people they may not like…
Happy fourth july to everyone
Fingernails across the chalk board. I just read the mental illness in Barry Block’s censored, lifer, Cesspool News. I think the disparity in podiatric thinking must be a HARDWIRED ANATOMIC ANOMALY in lifers. Here’s an example. That famous money loving business man non practicing podiatrist Alan Sherman demonstrates his aberrational thinking. Try to follow this: “Our very identity ..something we’re struggling with as we PROUDLY built our profession in the last 50 years into what it is today.” Re read that anomaly and mental illness. What? We don’t know what we are?! 50 years of “proudly building” a profession that… Read more »
AAAARGH! EDDY! I tried that LONG URl and must have messed because it said page not found. I’m curious but too lazy to try that letter train again. MAYBE? latter. Thanks for all the other sites once again PROVING PODIATRY IS NOT UNIQUE, NOT REALLY “THE” SPECIALIST OF ANYTHING, AND ACTUALLY IS THE BOY IN THE CORNER WITH A DUNCE CAP ON.

The essay was from Medpages: Here’s the transcript: A patient comes in complaining of right foot pain — and then it escalates! Watch the video to see what happens. You never know what you might find, so don’t get pigeoned-holed into a diagnosis. It’s important to take the whole person into consideration. Let me know what you think about this unique story and if you think most doctors would catch this condition. Bits of information were changed to maintain the patient’s privacy. Try this R: Just copy, and paste into the menu bar. You’ll get a kick out it. Happy 4th. We hold these truths to be self evident that all pods are created equally. Life liberty and the pursuit of bunioneictomies.
It was a festering collection of greedy assholes all trying to get theirs. What was worth preserving in the technician field of podiatry ? Crickets. That sound, reality.
That is what happened. The rapid decline of the APMA national meeting began with the disgraceful and self serving actions of the former executive director and former so call scientific director now executive director. Under their direction, the meeting became a giant sales pitch for AAPPM hucksters who were given hours and hours of presentation time. Insiders in dermatology and infectious disease lectures every year, pocketing corporate money. The wound product companies, the biopsy nazis, the fungal cream people, gave money and presented bull shit lectures on bull shit products from Dave and the fake wound care experts. Interestingly, as… Read more »

There are so many free CME courses (toss in a P) it’d make your head spin. Most states I’ve been told accept AMA Cat 1 credits, and from Prison-Med to Nace, FreeCME, Epocrates, Medscape, and on and on they’re ALL free. The live interactive simulcasts are not only excellent, but you learn—even if you’re not interested in the material. Sure some have a pretest and post test and the obligatory review of lecturers, some even send you a retention quiz a month later (rarely)… Read more »
What ever happened to the podiatry brothers? The gassy crew
What is the rottenest part of Podiatry? The APMA, The CPMA, The Foot College Administrators, The lifer blogs, in other words, it’s the leadership that is corrupt and quack. The very men you pay money and homage to are the cement shoes that keep your profession a non MD trade. Seth is correct in that the APMA NATIONAL MEETING IS ONE BIG SALES SEMINAR designed to extract money, benefits, and future jobs for politicians from the vendors. The “leadership” of Podiatry still aligns more with the Money, Profit, and the Business side than the MEDICAL, SCIENTIFIC SIDE. That’s because the… Read more »
We know why Robert was excluded from podiatry clubs, ASSociations, societies, boreds (intentional), and other junk food, etc. he knows too much and is too real. That scared the normies-DP WTFS who couldn’t think their way outta a paper bag with a map and a flashlight. A favorite? A foot group prezy twattering around with a stuffed animal in tow, and taking lotsa self pictures as if he had a mental illness, narcissism, or other Cluster B derangement with feet in the background. A brotherhood of fuck ups. Podiatry: A lame excuse for a failed dream (a VERY wise man).
La la la: What’s the ugliest part of p’die tree, boom la la, what is the rottenest part of the P? Some say the toes, some say the schmoes, I think its restrictive prohib-tive, unfortunate victims of systems beyond its control. Clyde Bannostuper DPM was strolling along the beach one day and came across an old metal lamp. He brushed off the sand and a genie appeared. “You are granted three wishes”: Clyde figured a few million bucks’d come in handy…Shazam—it started raining gold bars. “Ammit! Happy 4th July to everyone freedom and independence amen
Are you serious? Debt, debts, and more debt.
Debts not for those who raped and pillaged system
Podiatry was mostly useless, duplicative, and largely irrelevant.
How’s that for “killers”
