There are NO residencies in Podiatry, they are hospital preceptorships. They are not recognized by ACGME. The only reason they are three years in length is the non teaching hospitals get 150k per Podiatry preceptor. With the graduating Pod classes getting smaller there are plenty of hospital preceptorships available. You are out of touch of medical reality like the APMA is.

I remember that there was an AD in the APMA journal for becoming a member of the PODIATRIC CIRCULATORY SOCIETY. For 50 dollars they sent you a framed certificate saying you were a member. Really, I’m not kidding. I wonder how much MONEY THE POD MADE WHO CAME UP WITH THAT SCHEME, and I WONDER HOW MANY PODS HAD THAT HANGING IN THEIR OFFICE. IT WAS QUITE A LARGE CERTIFICATE.
