Apparently Barry Block misses the point. He asks the embarrassing survey question “should podiatrist be allowed to trim fingernails” ? Can you imagine the laughter going on amongst our orthopedic colleagues ?
They have to be laughing so hard tears are flowing from their eyes. Just think about this. The pedicurist can do more than a podiatrist. Your next-door neighbor can do more than you can. But Barry misses the point.
Apparently Medicare does not think you should even be allowed to do an examination and management unless it is at a reduced fee. They have no respect for your degree. And this is the reason why.
Maybe your overweight president should get his ass out of Spain and come back to the United States and actually do something besides working with the executive director to kiss the ass of the AAPPM people.
Pretty soon you won’t have to worry about practice management seminars because you will have no patients to practice management on. Do you not think the insurance carriers are looking at methods being advocated to extort every dime out of you ? Why do you think people like Jeffrey Lehrman have left practice to make their money sucking off of you. They cannot make it in private practice, that is why. They will not go to jail when you do the things advocated by these practice management individuals. If I were you, look at the way things are going and I would not be worried about trimming fingernails. I would be worried about having patients to even trim toenails on. But then again pretty soon many of you will be doing nothing more than practicing pedicures anyway. Get rid of the foot doctor license and at least you could do the hands and feet maybe for a combined fee. Yes Barry Block, you do a lot to advance this profession.
I’m going to vote yes on the fingernails. What the hell. Nobody cares what you think anyway. After all, I am anal when it comes to finger nail trimming.
